Additive Manufacturing Engineer I

Agile Space Industries, Inc. (AGILE) designs, builds, and tests in-space propulsion systems for satellites and spacecraft. AGILE uses state of the art 3D metal alloy printing techniques to rapidly design, manufacture, and test new engine designs in our purpose-built propulsion test facility. With over a decade of experience testing rocket engines, and engineers who have worked at industry leaders like Blue Origin, SpaceX, NASA, and Aerojet Rocketdyne, AGILE is a rapidly growing company with many exciting Defense, Civil and Commercial programs.
AGILE is headquartered is Durango, CO with a facility in Mount Pleasant, PA and growing presence in Tulsa, OK. The CEO, CFO and CCO are based around Boulder, CO.
AGILE is seeking a growth-oriented entry-level additive manufacturing engineer to join a fast paced, highly technical environment. The additive engineering team within Agile is a key enabler to the design and development of the future of rocket engineers for in space propulsion. In this role, you will work with both the propulsion design team and the additive manufacturing production team to optimize designs as well as processes for metal laser powder bed fusion technologies.
The entry level engineer will bring a basic understanding of metal laser powder bed fusion processes, applications engineering, materials science, and a strong desire to grow within a fast-growing company. This position will closely work under the direction of experienced AM engineers.
Job Details
- Work with design engineers to develop and improve part designs for additive manufacturing.
- Support parts through the AM workflow, from material selection, Design of Experiments (DoE), part fabrication, and to final delivery.
- Learn, apply, and develop quality control procedures and documentation for AM processes.
- Support issue resolution through design iterations.
- Assist with the execution of research and development projects related to metal additive manufacturing.
- Ability to travel between Agile sites as needed.
Qualifications
- B.S. or advanced degree in related engineering or technical field.
- Understanding of metal laser powder bed fusion platforms.
- Knowledge of designing components for metal laser powder bed fusion.
- Knowledge and experience with metal AM post-processing (support removal, subtractive manufacturing, and heat treatment).
- Knowledge and experience with CAD and AM data preparation software packages (e.g. SolidWorks, Magics, 3DXpert, etc.)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Energetic, positive, self-starter with the ability to work with direction.
- Must be a U.S. Person
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with engineering analysis tools and software.
- Experience with data processing and analysis.
- Familiar with GD&T.
- Result oriented approach.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with our many stakeholders and partners across internal departments to the organization.
- Previous internship or co-op experience in metal additive manufacturing environment.
Employment Type: Full-Time
Close Date: This position will remain open for a minimum of five (5) business days and will remain open until filled. Projected start day summer of 2025.

The Salary range for this position is $72,600-103,100
