Agile Space Industries, Inc. (AGILE) designs, builds, and tests in-space propulsion systems for satellites and spacecraft. AGILE uses state of the art 3D metal alloy printing techniques to rapidly design, manufacture, and test new engine designs in our purpose-built propulsion test facility. With over a decade of experience testing rocket engines, and engineers who have worked at industry leaders like Blue Origin, SpaceX, NASA, and Aerojet Rocketdyne, AGILE is a rapidly growing company with many exciting Defense, Civil and Commercial programs.

AGILE is headquartered in Durango, CO with a facility in Mount Pleasant, PA and growing presence in Tulsa, OK.  The CEO, CFO and CCO are based around Boulder, CO.

Agile Space Industries is seeking a hands-on, strategic leader to serve as our Director of Program Delivery – Aerospace Propulsion Systems in beautiful Durango, CO. Responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of our rocket engine development programs. This is not an IT or software project role. We are looking for a seasoned aerospace program leader who thrives in a hardware-centric, customer-driven environment where program delivery, cost, and schedule are critical to growth.

This role will manage a team of program and project managers, report to the COO, and play a critical part in scaling Agile’s commercial and defense propulsion programs. You will directly impact revenue by ensuring programs are executed efficiently, aligned with customer needs, and delivered on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Execution

  • Lead the planning and execution of complex rocket propulsion development programs, from concept through delivery.
  • Drive schedule, cost, and performance accountability across programs.
  • Align program goals with business growth objectives and customer contract requirements.

Team & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage and grow a team of Project and Program Managers.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders: Engineering, Manufacturing, Test, Business Development, Contracts, and Quality.
  • Serve as the primary customer-facing program leader, ensuring clear communication of milestones, risks, and deliverables.

Revenue Driven Program Delivery

  • Drive programs that are critical to top-line revenue growth.
  • Partner with Business Development and Contracts to develop winning execution strategies.
  • Ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction to support repeat and follow-on business.

Risk, Quality & Compliance

  • Own program risk management strategies, contingency planning, and customer escalations.
  • Ensure compliance with industry and customer standards (e.g., AS9100, NASA, DoD).
  • Lead internal and external reviews, audits, and milestone gate reviews.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aerospace, or related technical field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.

15+ years of experience in aerospace or defense program management, preferably in hardware product delivery or propulsion systems.

Proven success managing multi-million-dollar programs for DoD, NASA, or commercial space customers.

Experience with government contracts, Earned Value Management (EVM), and programmatic metrics.

Strong team leadership skills and experience interfacing with technical teams and executive customers.

PMP or similar certification is a plus.

Employment Type: Exempt

Salary: $169,000-$255,000

Work Schedule: Full Time
