We are in search of a Data Analyst I or Data Analyst II, to join our Data Management department in Rocklin, California. This full-time position reports to the VP, Data Solutions and supports the organization's data governance process, with an emphasis on data validation, data modeling and data quality.

After an initial in-office training period, this position is eligible for workplace flexibility and a one-time home office stipend. Employees are expected to continue working from their office location a minimum of 50% or 60% of the time depending on location.

Compensation Information

The base salary range for this position in Rocklin, California is:

Level I: 
Typical starting range: $67,700 - $90,400
Full base salary range: $67,700 - $111,800
Annual performance-based incentive target is 8% or 10% of base depending on experience.

Level II: 
Typical starting range: $81,100 - $111,900
Full base salary range: $81,100 - $127,200
Annual performance-based incentive target is 10% of base.

Job Requirements

  • Work with the VP, Data Solutions and the Data leadership team to support the organization's data solutions needs.
  • Support the company’s governance, business intelligence and risk management programs as they relate to data and analytics systems.
  • Collaborate with risk management staff and external service providers to prioritize and deliver data initiatives.
  • Provide support for future business enablement initiatives including GIS, advanced data visualization, and predictive analytics.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify requirements, define successful outcomes, and deliver trusted results.
  • Utilize data to assess future risk, opportunities and effectiveness. Translate results into meaningful solutions to enhance decision making.
  • Monitor existing data models and help develop reports, analysis, and recommendations for Enterprise Risk Management leadership.
  • Follow CI/CD best practices for data systems ensuring reliable development, deployment, and maintenance for built data solutions.
  • Develop SQL and Python transformation code to process data for analytics.
  • Analyze data and information in innovative ways to provided support for decisions and enhance process efficiencies.
  • Perform all duties and maintain all standards in accordance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science information technology, business, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Generally, requires at least three years' experience in data management or related field, ideally in financial institution operations.
  • Advanced computer skills including MS Office applications and other related industry applications.
  • Strong SQL skills, with detailed knowledge of DML and DDL techniques and best practices in one or more relational database platforms.
  • Strong development skills in one or more C-family of languages: Python (preferred), C#, R, or Java.
  • Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), source control systems (Git, etc.), process flowcharts, Entity-Relationship diagrams, and data management environments.
  • Knowledgeable of Azure environment for data projects, including one of the following: Azure Data Factory (ADF), SSIS, Databricks, SparkSQL, Jupyter, Python.
  • Effective decision-making skills as well as strong interpersonal, communication, customer service and team skills.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience in one the following reporting/business intelligence technologies: Microsoft Power BI Paginated/SSRS, SSAS, SAP Business Objects, Crystal Reports, MicroStrategy, Cognos, OBIEE, Hyperion, etc.
  • Understanding of container runtimes (Docker, Rocket Kubernetes, etc.).
  • Experience contributing to Business Requirements Documents, High-Level Design Documents, Functional Design Documents, and other development documentation.
  • A working knowledge of financial industry business processes and data infrastructure.
