The AI Alignment Foundation (AIAF) is a 501c3 nonprofit incubated by AE Studio, focused on advancing neglected research directions in AI alignment. AIAF exists to back the bets that typical funding models neglect.

Our active portfolio includes gradient routing, self-other overlap, endogenous steering resistance, and self-interpretation adapters - with work funded by the UK AI Security Institute, Survival and Flourishing Fund, Amaranth Foundation, and others. We collaborate with researchers at Anthropic, DeepMind, Redwood Research, and across academia.
