Travel Requirement: International travel required to India 8+ times per year

AI Foundry is an AI building and consulting business working with some of the largest companies in the world. AI Foundry is partnered with a major global company operating across finance, consumer, and retail verticals, leading their AI efforts from the ground up.

The team is seeking builders who want to be part of something massive: designing and building multi-agent AI systems that will reshape how hundreds of millions of people interact with financial services, retail, insurance, and consumer products.

AI Foundry is looking for an Insurance Architect who can connect deep insurance workflow understanding with AI-native systems design. You will help define how insurance products, data, rules, operations, and agentic systems fit together so a major international insurance provider can build durable AI platforms rather than one-off tools.

What You'll Do

  • Architect insurance workflows and platform patterns across policy administration, underwriting, claims, servicing, distribution, and customer support.
  • Translate insurance business processes into system designs, data flows, integration patterns, and AI-enabled workflows that engineering teams can build.
  • Define architectural patterns for agentic systems in compliance-sensitive insurance contexts, including guardrails, approvals, auditability, and escalation paths.
  • Work closely with product, engineering, data, operations, and partner stakeholders to align workflow design with business outcomes.
  • Review solution designs, challenge weak assumptions, and help teams avoid brittle process automation or disconnected point solutions.
  • Identify where existing systems, partner platforms, APIs, data models, or manual processes need to be integrated or rethought.
  • Lead calls with overseas teams to explain architecture, review progress, and provide guidance across time zones.
  • Create clear documentation that captures workflows, tradeoffs, dependencies, and implementation guidance.
  • Stay current on AI capabilities, insurance technology, regulatory constraints, and operational patterns.
  • Travel to India 8+ times per year to work directly with client, product, and engineering teams.

Who You Are

  • You have meaningful experience designing or modernizing insurance platforms, products, or operating systems.
  • You understand insurance workflows such as policy issuance, underwriting, claims, servicing, distribution, renewals, and regulatory controls.
  • You are AI-fluent and can reason about where agentic systems, LLMs, retrieval, workflow automation, and human review belong in real insurance operations.
  • You can translate between business process, product requirements, technical architecture, and operational execution.
  • You are comfortable with integrations, data models, APIs, legacy systems, partner systems, and the practical constraints of enterprise delivery.
  • You can hold a high bar for architecture without slowing teams down with theoretical perfection.
  • You communicate clearly in writing and can create artifacts that teams across geographies can use.
  • You are comfortable challenging assumptions with substance when a workflow or system design does not hold up.
  • You are collaborative and able to work with product managers, engineers, operators, and executive stakeholders.
  • You can make confident decisions with incomplete information and update them as evidence changes.
  • You are energized by building foundational systems from scratch in a complex, high-scale domain.
