The Sales Manager, North America reporting to the Director, Global Sales is a relationship builder and sales strategist directly responsible for driving sales growth by renewing subscriptions and introducing new products and services to a dynamic customer base. The Sales Manager plays a key role by understanding market forces driving institutional purchasing and publishing behavior in the assigned market.
How you’ll make an impact:
- Achieve sales quotas by renewing subscription products and selling additional products and services.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to promote AIP Publishing products, services, generate sales leads, and ensure customers and prospects are well-informed.
- Drive sales growth by securing AIP Publishing’s customer base via the renewal of existing accounts, and/or adding new products and services.
- Partner with the Sales and Marketing teams to formulate and execute sales strategy for the assigned territory.
- Maintain and expand relationships with relevant stakeholders for assigned territory and effectively sell products and services that meet customer needs.
- Attend and participate in trade shows, conferences, and conduct regular remote and on-site visits to market, promote, and sell AIP Publishing products and services.
- Position AIP Publishing as a market leader in the physical science publishing industry with key accounts in the region.
- Track evolving needs in the research community that have the potential to impact future AIP Publishing product offerings and services.
- Understand the competitive marketplace and identify opportunities that differentiate AIP Publishing offerings from its competitors’.
What you're great at:
- Proven track record of successful key account management.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to make persuasive product presentations adapted to different buyer requirements.
- Ability to read and converse in language(s) spoken in assigned territory is highly desirable but not required.
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience in a sales/marketing environment required.
- Familiarity with STEM publishing environment required.
- Ability and willingness to travel required.

Salary Range:
$85,000 - $110,000
At AIPP, we offer competitive compensation based on the role, experience, and other relevant factors. Under the New York Convenience Rule, all employees, regardless of their residence in other states, will be taxed at the New York State tax rate. Employees may also have additional state-specific tax obligations depending on where they live.
