Engineering Manager, Activate
The Role
As an Engineering Manager on our Activate team, you’ll lead some of the most transformative products in Airbyte’s history. You’ll launch our Data Activation platform and spearhead the next generation of our no-code Connector Builder, enabling API integrations for AI and Reverse ETL use cases. These technologies will open entirely new revenue streams while shaping how thousands of companies connect, activate, and extend their data.
- Data Activation Platform - Power real-time operational use cases by syncing analytics data back into business apps.
- Next-Gen No-Code Connector Builder - Unlock no-code API integration at scale for developers, data teams, and AI workloads.
- AI-Driven Extensibility - Incorporate LLMs and new frameworks to accelerate connector creation and extend Airbyte’s platform reach.
- Scalable Integration Frameworks - Build patterns and tooling that make connector development 10× faster and more accessible.
- Lead and grow the Activate team, fostering a culture of innovation, ownership, and technical excellence.
- Drive product vision and architecture for Data Activation and Connector Builder, aligning roadmaps with company goals.
- Pioneer new patterns, frameworks, and best practices that define extensibility at Airbyte.
- Ship high-impact features at scale while ensuring reliability, security, and enterprise readiness.
- Mentor talented engineers and help shape their technical and career growth.
- Build leverage into the system—transforming week-long tasks into minutes through automation and smarter frameworks.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in engineering leadership.
- Proven success managing and scaling high-performing teams.
- Deep experience building integrations and platforms at scale.
- Strong architectural instincts and ability to align technical direction with business outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills and cross-functional leadership.
- A bias toward shipping, learning, and continuously improving.
- Passion for building frameworks that empower developers and redefine integration.
Location
- San Francisco. Onsite 3x/week.
Salary
- $220,000 - $245,000 base + a generous equity package, and benefits listed below for the U.S. market.
