Role Summary:

The incumbent will be responsible to lead and plan operational activities associated with catering services in line with Air North procedures and policies.  This position will oversee daily catering operations and monitor catering staff while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare flights ahead of time, monitoring passenger special requirements, and dispatching flights in a timely manner; ensure on-time performance (OTP)
• Monitor catering email, ensuring that flight or aircraft changes are updated and current
• Manage daily HACCP entries including receiving, cooking, and cooling temperatures
• Ensure daily meal production follows daily specifications and quantities, and reduces food waste
• Ensure a daily tailgate is completed identifying prep positions and cleaning schedules with both morning and afternoon staff
• Provide encouragement and guidance to fellow staff members
• Contribute to development and completion of corporate event menus and staff events

Must haves:

• Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
• Valad Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean abstract
• Leadership experience
• Minimum 3 years of commercial kitchen operations and baking experience
• A strong sense of accountability, honesty, and responsibility in all tasks, supporting the trust that we have built with passengers, partners, and communities
• Enthusiasm for contributing to our unique mission, whether that’s through direct customer service, operational excellence, or behind-the-scenes support
• Must be a legally entitled to work in Canada

Nice to haves:

• Food Safe Level 1 certificate
• Experience operating a 5-ton truck
