Senior Network Manager

Role Purpose:

The Senior Network Manager role at Airspace is responsible for the management, development and continuous improvement of service partners (Couriers, Freight Forwaders, Ground Handlers and OBC providers) performance in their assigned territory. At Airspace, Network Managers are expected to continually drive, maintain, and expand service excellence within their network through the performance management of their partners, and act as a conduit of Airspace’s quality standards towards our partners. The ideal Network Manager is a data-driven problem solver who will act and execute independently and collectively towards company-level objectives, while simultaneously strengthening the capability and quality of our network of service partners. 

 

Role Responsibilities:

Market Development 

  • Source, thoroughly evaluate, and onboard new service partners in existing and new markets to add additional capacity in existing markets, introduce specialized capabilities, or establish serviceability in net new markets 
  • Establish baselines and success metrics for new market launches to ensure performance standards are met 
  • Regularly conduct market and country-level assessments to understand regulatory and competitive dynamics that impact Airspace’s service capabilities in your assigned territories 

Market Management

  • Monitor and manage partner performance levels (acceptance rate, time to pickup, on-time performances, email and phone response time) to ensure Airspace’s network consistently meets or exceeds expectations
  • Setup and control parameters which guard the quality of subcontractors according to our ISO 9001:2015 guidelines and internal quality standards and, when required
  • Facilitate business reviews (either weekly, monthly or quarterly) with partners to align on performance, expectations, and drive corrective actions
  • Proactively identify and implement mitigation strategies for market risks such as capacity constraints, geopolitical changes, or seasonality 
  • Lead the implementation of new service lines or process changes with partners, ensuring alignment to SOP’s and SLA’s
  • Ensure cost competitiveness at the market and partner level through evaluation of rate structures and engaging in negotiations as necessary

Operational Solutioning and Implementation

  • Build and execute the implementation of  operational solutions that align with customer and business requirements, including routing, transit/SLA times, cost, and compliance needs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Operations, Finance, R&D) to translate commercial and operational solutions into executable network plans
  • Validate operational feasibility of proposed solutions through test shipments and pilots 

Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain high-trust relationships with key partners, stakeholders to drive loyalty and 
  • Act as the primary escalation point for partner-related issues, and driving the execution of resolutions 

Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement

  • Routinely analyze partner performance KPIs compared to stated SLAs that measure individual partner performance and cost-effectiveness 
  • Proactively evaluate and identify performance improvement opportunities with individual partners and/or specific markets 
  • Independently execute corrective action plans with partners based on missed SLA/ KPI targets, as needed

  • You will exhibit  exceptional communication skills, including the ability to be clear, concise and timely 
  • You will maintain strong professional organization and discipline to meet deadlines and own tasks to completion

Skills & Experience:

  • At least 5 years of logistics experience in a similar role; ideally a combination of Operations and/or Network Management or Trade Lane Management experience 
  • Very good knowledge of the Expedite, Time-Critical or Speciality logistics industry
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office 365 or Google Suite applications
  • Service minded team-player
  • Business fluency in English. Additional language skills are highly welcome. 
  • Willingness to travel and ability to deal with change
