Analytics Engineer, Business Analytics

Airtable's groundbreaking approach to end-user software creation is rapidly expanding, making it an exhilarating time for a Finance Analytics Engineer to join our Finance Analytics Team. In this crucial role, you will report directly to the Head of Analytics, focusing on enhancing the accuracy and stability of our financial metrics, particularly in the areas of ACV/ARR calculations. Your strategic insights will be instrumental in navigating our financial landscape, providing clear and understandable metrics. You are also passionate about building data products to enable self-service Analytics, in particular in Looker using the latest semantic modeling tooling.

What you'll do
- Lead Financial Analytics: Drive the accuracy and reliability of our financial metrics, ensuring they align with our strategic objectives.
- Partner with the Finance Team: Provide analytical support directly to the Finance Team, influencing financial strategies and decision-making processes.
- Metrics Definitions: You can take ambiguous business problems and develop simple, consistent, and actionable metrics to track business performance.
- Own Company-Wide Metric Systems: Develop and refine key financial metrics and datasets that underpin our strategic planning and performance evaluations.
- Promote Data Excellence: Cultivate a culture of high-standard data practices and experimentation, enhancing the analytical capabilities across the company.
- Develop Executive Dashboards: Create and maintain advanced dashboards and KPIs to deliver it to the Finance Team.
Who you are
- Skilled in Looker, Semantic Modeling, and BI Tooling: Experience in building out self-service data sets in Looker for easy consumption by Finance Team members and the broader company.
- Detail-Oriented Investigator: You are driven by curiosity to explore data beyond the surface, discovering essential insights that guide strategic decisions.
- Experienced Financial Data Analyst: With at least 6 years in roles like Data Scientist, Analyst, or Engineer, you possess deep expertise in financial data strategy.
- Skilled in Data Translation: You excel at transforming complex data into meaningful, actionable insights, effectively storytelling to impact high-level financial strategies.
- Technically Proficient: Proficient in SQL and tools like R or Python, you handle large datasets with ease, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
- Effective Communicator: You communicate complex data insights clearly and effectively, making sophisticated analytical concepts accessible to a non-technical audience.

Compensation awarded to successful candidates will vary based on their work location, relevant skills, and experience.

For work locations in the San Francisco Bay Area, New York City, and Los Angeles, the base salary range for this role is:
$170,000 - $221,500 USD
For all other work locations (including remote), the base salary range for this role is:
$153,000 - $199,300 USD
