Product Designer, AI
Airtable is the no-code app platform that empowers people closest to the work to accelerate their most critical business processes. More than 500,000 organizations, including 80% of the Fortune 100, rely on Airtable to transform how work gets done.
AI will transform every business, but we’re still just scratching the surface of its potential. Its true power lies in its ability to automate the often overlooked workflows that are the lifeblood of organizations. At Airtable, we have the unique opportunity to provide AI tools that are deeply embedded within a team’s data and workflows, unlocking the potential to transform every business process.
We’re looking for a talented and experienced Product Designer to join our AI team and drive the creation of new AI-powered experiences. AI at Airtable will transform every Airtable app into a living, learning system that evolves with our users' needs, driving new levels of efficiency, insight, and innovation.
How might we use AI to suggest the next best action? How can AI features feel natural and wonderful to use? How can we use AI to turn multi-step workflows into a single click? If these sound like problems you’re eager to help us solve and you’re excited about the chance to work with a crew of humble, talented, and deeply thoughtful designers, we can’t wait for you to apply.
You’ll be an integral part of a collaborative team, contributing to both strategic vision and design execution. This role is based in the San Francisco Bay Area with 1-2 in-office days preferred per week for team collaboration.
What you’ll do:
Craft exceptional AI experiences
Using your full range of product design skills to discover, design and deliver simple, beautifully-crafted AI experiences. You’ll level up some of the most important workflows in Airtable while holding a high bar for overall design quality.
Contribute to a vision of Airtable with AI
AI has the opportunity to change every part of Airtable. We want you to help design and drive a strong point of view about what the future could look like with AI seamlessly integrated into Airtable.
Work closely with cross-functional partners
Partner effectively with Product Managers, Engineers, and other stakeholders. Work closely with teams across the company to create cohesive AI use experiences.
See Airtable through the eyes of our customers
We have a dedicated customer base—they’re passionate about building towards very specific workflows and logic. You’ll partner across the company and have direct conversations to understand the goals and needs of users in many industries. You’ll leverage interviews and feedback sessions to inform your work.
Help our design team thrive
The design culture at Airtable is such an important part of our day-to-day! You’ll contribute to team critiques, spend time in collaborative jam sessions, and continue to learn and grow in your own craft and practice. There’s always someone ready to nerd out with you on big, brain-melting ideas and the smallest of visual details. We love what we do, and make it a priority to invest in time together as a design crew.
We might be a good fit for you if...
You’re an experienced Product Designer.
You have 8+ years experience and have a portfolio of thoughtful, impactful work to show for it. Bonus if you’ve worked on AI, SaaS, or zero-to-one projects.
You’re interested in exploring AI in work and life.
You’re excited about staying up-to-date with the latest AI trends, being an avid user of AI products, and becoming familiar with AI patterns like natural language interfaces, prompt engineering, and UIs that go beyond prompting.
You have a love for the technical side of tech.
You love to work with engineers to create prototypes to explore, learn, and validate what’s possible. Or maybe you can even create an AI prototype yourself!
You gravitate towards ambiguous and novel design problems.
There’s no shortage of challenging, tangly problems to solve at Airtable. AI is one of them. If the ideas of ambiguity, brainstorming, and endless possibilities have you nodding “yes” at this screen, then you’re a fit.
You inspire your colleagues to be the best versions of themselves.
We authentically admire and respect each other, and we think that motivates us to create great work.
