Airtable’s Base Infrastructure team owns the most critical service at Airtable, which powers the business logic of Airtable bases. As the Engineering Manager of this team, you will own the vision and roadmap for this and several related critical pieces of serving infrastructure, leading a dedicated group of engineers focused on improving Airtable’s scalability, uptime, and efficiency.
What You'll Do
- Lead, manage, and grow a team of high-functioning engineers (from mid-level to Staff+) that are in charge of our systems and frameworks.
- Nurture a team of passionate and capable engineers. Partner with senior engineers to multiply their impact, as well as coach and grow early-career engineers.
- Partner with cross-functional peers across product and infrastructure to develop a team vision and roadmap.
- Implement processes to help the team scale and be productive while allowing for agility to accommodate the dynamic environment we operate in.
Who You Are
- 5+ years experience as an engineer and more than one year as a manager
- Experience with serving infrastructure and/or databases
- Experience with navigating large scale systems
- Experience leading high performing engineering teams in a fast paced environment
- Experience managing Staff+ engineers

Compensation awarded to successful candidates will vary based on their work location, relevant skills, and experience.

For work locations in the San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, New York City, and Los Angeles, the base salary range for this role is:
$240,000 - $330,000 USD
