A Snapshot
Be part of the CET (Critical Environments Team) headed by CET Associate Director, Electrical Systems in Critical Environments and you will report to Senior Electrical Systems Specialist. Your primary role will be to ensure the safe operation and management of AT HV infrastructure.
Role objectives
Your primary role will be to support the Associate Director, Electrical Systems in Critical Environments in ensuring the safe operation and management of AT’s HV and LV infrastructure. This can be achieved by,
- Be a competent HV operator and assist in training other less experienced operators.
- Write and review Switching instructions as required.
- Ensuring all HV aspects comply to all local compliance and standards.
- Assists where required in working within a commissioning environment relating to HV infrastructure of all related voltages up to and including 132KV.
Day to day
- Prepare or review MOP’s and HV Switching procedures
- Prepare MOPS and HV and LV switching Instructions for Development related projects. This could include working on green Field sites or integration works in Live DC environments
- Carry out Switching as per approved MOPS and Switching instructions
- Prepare inspection, maintenance, and safety programs.
- Manage the maintenance and inspection of the HV network and self-delivery some aspects.
- Assist in the successful resolve of post construction punch lists.
- Assist in project and commissioning during construction phases.
- Assist technology department reviews and provide operational input to designs.
- Support Operations in HV related work. Especially when dealing with supply authorities
- Managing or assist in managing sub-contractors on behalf of Ops during normal maintenance or during development construction integration phases.
- Have an awareness of authority requirements in other States and within APAC.
- Assist AirTrunks Safety Team during incident investigations, by suppling technical input
Other requirements
- Have experience with utility or in electrical contracting as a HV contractor on private HV networks.
- Electrical trade or similar background, preferably with general knowledge of LV switchgear and different types, power generation
- Have an excellent technical knowledge of HV systems and assets such as switchgear, HV cable and cable installation and transformers.
- Have an Awareness of HV Protection and DC systems
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and specifications.
- Ability to travel through Australia and Overseas.
- Professional attitude with persuasive skills to make things happen.
- Proficiency in word and excel and outlook.
- Ability to work proactively or work as part of a team.
- Strong communicator and ability to interact with all professional levels within an organisation.
- Must have strong written and oral skills.
- Australian Citizen and/or suitable to hold Negative Vetting 1 Clearance
