Snapshot
As our Quality Manager in Mumbai you will be responsible for implementing and operationalising the Global Minimum Standard for Quality (GMS‑Q) and the Quality Playbook across all construction activities within their assigned region. This role provides strategic and technical leadership in quality governance, quality assurance, quality control, documentation management, inspections, testing and handover readiness across AirTrunk’s projects delivery lifecycle. The role ensures that all projects regardless of delivery model, geography, or contractor capability adhere to AirTrunk’s global quality requirements, Technical Requirements (TR), Inspection and Test Plan/Checklist standards (ITP/ITC), and statutory regulations. Drives Lesson Learned, proactive quality risk management, consistent reporting, uplift of supply chain capability, embedding of quality systems, and cross‑regional alignment through the GMS‑Q.
Key Responsibilities
1- Quality Governance & GMS‑Q Implementation
- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the Global minimum standards across all regional projects, ensuring alignment with global standards, ISO 9001 principles and AirTrunk’s Quality Policy.
- Ensure project teams, GCs, subcontractors and consultants adhere to AirTrunk’s quality governance gates, assurance requirements and documentation workflows.
- Integrate quality expectations into Pre‑Flight and In‑Flight activities, supporting governance reviews, readiness assessments, and quality‑related approvals.
2- Quality Assurance (QA)
- Establish QA expectations with GCs and consultants, ensuring clarity on ITP/ITC requirements, hold/witness points, material verification, commissioning protocols and record management.
- Conduct quarterly quality audits (design reviews, onsite audits, documentation audits, supplier capability assessments) to identify systemic gaps and track corrective actions.
- Drive regional alignment with enterprise systems including Visibuilt, Procore, Smartsheet, DroneDeploy and digital QA tools.
3- Quality Control (QC) & Site Delivery Support
- Oversee inspections, testing, verification and surveillance.
- Ensure the effective implementation of ITPs/ITCs across all trades, identifying non‑conformance trends and systemic issues.
- Support project teams during construction, commissioning and handover phases with specialist quality advice.
- Ensure close‑out of CARs, NCRs and Defects within agreed timeframes and to an acceptable standard.
4- Risk Management & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain and update the Regional Quality Risk Register, ensuring alignment with the Global Quality Risk Register.
- Identify regional recurring issues and ensure lessons learned are developed and communicated.
- Proactively identify emerging quality risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Undertake quarterly Lessons Learned workshops to capture regional insights, identify recurring issues
5- Documentation, Records & Handover Readiness
- Ensure that all documentation, test results, QA/QC evidence, and handover packages are complete, traceable, and compliant with GMS‑Q, TRs, and customer requirements.
- Support the Document Controllers in reinforcing regional compliance with documentation workflows, systems, metadata requirements and archiving standards.
- Validate the completeness of Quality Records, Manuals, commissioning documentation and customer deliverables.
6- Stakeholder, GC & Vendor Quality Engagement
- Provide coaching and quality capability uplift to GCs, subcontractors, and consultants.
- Partner with Regional Delivery, Engineering, Commissioning, Operations, Design, and Development teams to resolve quality issues and strengthen quality culture.
- Engage with customers as required to demonstrate quality performance and resolve escalations.
7- Regulatory & Standards Compliance
- Ensure all construction activities meet applicable regional statutory, authority and technical requirements (e.g., NCC Australia, BCA Singapore, Japanese Building Codes, Malaysian UBBL, Hong Kong FSD), while maintaining alignment with AirTrunk’s global standards.
- Oversee third‑party inspections and certifications to support regulatory approvals.
8- Reporting & Performance Metrics
- Own regional quality reporting, including weekly dashboards, NCR/defect performance, leading indicators, audit findings, and key risk themes.
- Contribute to the Global Quality Dashboard and enterprise reporting packs.
- Track and report against GMS‑Q compliance levels and quality KPIs.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years’ experience in construction quality, QA/QC management, or technical engineering roles within data centres, critical infrastructure, or large‑scale industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems, with experience embedding quality frameworks in fast‑paced delivery environments.
- Proven experience conducting audits, managing ITP/ITCs, overseeing commissioning quality, and driving NCR/RCA processes.
- Familiarity with AirTrunk‑standard systems including SharePoint, Visibuilt, Procore, Smartsheet, and DroneDeploy, or similar QA/QC and construction management platforms.
- Strong understanding of multidisciplinary construction (architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, fire, ICT, security, structural, hydraulics).
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and stakeholder management skills across diverse cultural and technical environments.
- Ability to influence contractors and drive a strong quality culture.
- Experience managing regional portfolios or multi‑project oversight preferred.
