Role Overview:
Reporting to the Director of Business Operations at AirWorks, this position will play a crucial role in innovating and scaling AirWorks project delivery. In this highly collaborative and cross functional role responsibilities will include developing new GIS workflows, leading large scale POCs, and supporting sales scoping new deals. The Solutions Architect will be the technical expert to support pre-sales engagement and onboarding new customers leveraging AirWorks GIS deliverables. This role will lead new product and capabilities that results in standards creation and repeatable scalable deliveries that can be executed by the operations team.
Responsibilities
- Serves as a GIS thought leader.
- Leads highly complex GIS projects and serves as a mentor to junior GIS staff.
- Provide support in configuring web applications using Esri’s ArcGIS Online/Portal (ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123, StoryMaps, ArcGIS Dashboard, Web Maps and Web Applications), to support project work.
- Work closely with Sales as technical support in scoping workflows and projects for customers
- Lead AirWorks GIS practice by developing new workflows and best practices
- Leverage industry expertise in a variety of workflows for feature extractions in 2D and 3D
- Familiarity with a variety of data sources and mapping technologies such as UAVs and mobile mapping solutions
Skills
- Demonstrated experience in task managing or project management on small to medium sized GIS implementation projects.
- Able to utilize GIS applications to perform advanced spatial analysis or data conversion or manipulation. i.e., raster/surface manipulation, mosaic, modify and repurpose imagery for other software.
- Demonstrated experience providing GIS services within AEC, telecommunications, or utilities
- Ability to learn new software and workflows along with our customers as needed
- Curious and driven mindset. Ability to independently solve hard problems
- Highly organized and complex project management experience
- ArcGIS pro experience, field maps experience, lead of complex GIS projects, customer facing consultative experience, Esri dashboards
- Experience translating customer needs into workflows and project deliverables • Strong knowledge of geospatial data formats, coordinate systems, and data projections
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in the use of GIS technology required
- BS in GIS, Engineering, Planning, or Geography
- Experience working with the Esri product Suite, Desktop, Web, and strong understanding of Esri data models required
- Spatial Data experience
- Telecommunication, Utilities, or AEC industry experience
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with AutoCAD is not required but a significant bonus
- GISP certification (Highly Preferred)
- Product management/Agile methodology experience
- Jira experience
- Master’s degree preferred and may be substituted for 1-2 years of experience
- Boston Preferred
