Location:
Austin, Texas is our preferred location for this position, however we'd also consider candidates based in Portland, Oregon or remotely in the vicinity of these two locations. We're open to a hybrid working style; spend time in the office and at home.

The role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Energy Market Analyst to join our US team, as we expand. You will have a deep understanding of the ERCOT and CAISO energy markets, with a proven track record in market advisory, consulting, and energy market modelling. This role will be critical in guiding our market entry strategy, optimizing our BESS operations, and staying ahead of future market changes. 

Unlike typical developers, Akaysha is deeply involved in every stage of the BESS lifecycle—from design and development to ownership and operation. This role offers a unique opportunity to see the direct impact of your work on the performance and success of these assets, giving you a holistic view of the BESS industry. The Energy Markets team is a unique pillar in Akaysha's business model that drives decision making.

• Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of the ERCOT and CAISO markets, identifying key trends, regulatory changes, and market drivers impacting BESS operations.
• Strategic Advisory: Provide expert advice on market entry strategies, revenue optimization, and risk management for our BESS assets in ERCOT and CAISO.
• Market Modeling: Develop and maintain energy market models to forecast prices, grid dynamics, and the impact of potential market changes on BESS operations.
• Regulatory Monitoring: Stay up-to-date with market regulations, rule changes, and policy developments in ERCOT and CAISO, advising the team on potential impacts and opportunities.
• Collaboration: Work closely with our engineering, operations, and business development teams to align market insights with operational strategies.
• Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate market insights, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to senior management.
