Location:

Akaysha's Head Office is located in Melbourne, however this role could also be located in either our Sydney, or Brisbane Office. 
We take a hybrid approach, spend time in the office and at home!

The role:

This position will be responsible for the Project Management of a transmission-scale BESS; one of Akaysha Energy's four projects in the NEM currently in construction.  

Day to day, you'll manage internal and external resources to ensure the project is delivered safely, on time and within the budget. This will involve managing the delivery of project scope with EPC contractor and OEM suppliers and Transmission Network Service Providers works for the grid connection scope. Internally, you will interact with multiple pillars within Akaysha such as Development, Engineering, Grid Connection, Asset Management, HSE, and Operations.  

You’ll have an opportunity to build relationships with local communities and  land owners. 

Unlike other BESS Developers, we build, own and operate our assets at Akaysha - in both Australian and International markets; this creates a unique opportunity for a Project Manager to be exposed to the whole project lifecycle (from development to construction, and through to operations and decommissioning) and to develop new skills learning from the relevant SMEs in the industry.  

With a strong pipeline of projects - once delivered, you'll remain a part of the Development and Delivery team and assist on future projects that are nearing construction phase. 
 
Key responsibilities will include:
  • Work with Site Management and EPC contractor to coordinate upcoming construction activities and deal with site related issues 
  • Work with OEM suppliers to coordinate equipment delivery and equipment cold and hot commissioning 
  • Assist the Grid Connection and Commissioning teams with the Generator Registration process and R2 validation process (Hold Points testing) 
  • Coordinate Grid Connection works progression with Transmission Network Service Provider 
  • Business reporting to internal and external parties covering project progression, cost and schedule performance, WHSE statistics 
  • Contract management of Balance of Plant, Equipment Supply and Access and Connection Agreements  
  • Stakeholder engagement management of internal and external parties  
What you'll bring: 
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, or a related field (electrical engineering preferred)  
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience in major projects environment; the energy sector, renewables construction or infrastructure projects experience is highly regarded.  
  • Experience in management of complex infrastructure contracts, contract negotiation experience. 
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and coordination skills. 
  • High-level of attention to detail, excellent time management and problem-solving ability 
  • Willingness to learn, adapt and develop in a fast-paced sector.
