Reporting to:
Senior Manager, Finance & Investment
The role:
Key responsibilities will include:
- Investment case development of energy technology and renewables assets, including financial modelling and transaction execution
- Preparation of financial modelling and analysis, returns analysis, preparation of investment committee papers
- Working with equity partners and debt financiers to optimise capital structures and investment outcomes. This includes running equity and debt processes, and managing external advisors as required
- Manage due diligence advisors throughout the development of portfolio assets
- Supporting the investigation of emerging asset classes including but not limited to renewable fuels and green hydrogen, carbon sequestration
- Support the Director of Finance & Investments in preparing reporting for the Akaysha board on portfolio and project economics, investment outcomes, operating business budgeting
- Support the development, analysis and implementation of portfolio level product and equity strategies alongside the Director of Strategy
- Working with the COO on business and capital reporting across the projects and business
- Working with Management Team and other key team members in the development of new energy products and contracting strategies, including portfolio optimisation
- Supporting commercial negotiations of project documents including supply contracts, EPC contracts, offtake agreements, finance documents etc alongside legal and finance teams

What you'll bring:
- Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Engineering preferred
- 8+ years’ experience in a similar or related role in investment banking, funds management, private equity or corporate finance
- Expert proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Technical understanding of renewables models (revenue, capex, opex, tax and finance drivers)
- Experience working on energy, renewables or utility-scale energy storage system preferred
- Proven ability to write investment papers and communicate analysis effectively via presentation.
- Possess excellent numerical, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with a small, fast-paced team and make critical decisions quickly
- Ability to learn, adapt and develop in a fast-paced sector
