Senior Manager, Asset Management

Cremorne, Victoria, Australia

Are you ready to help build a brighter, cleaner tomorrow?

At Akaysha Energy, we’re building big, fast, and with purpose. Since 2021, we’ve grown to over 200 people across four countries, and we’re proud to lead the energy transition with mega-scale battery storage solutions that we design, build, own and operate.

Backed by BlackRock, we’re a portfolio company under Global Infrastructure Partners working to make clean, reliable energy accessible around the world. But what we are really building is a better future for everyone we share the planet with.

As the Senior Manager, Asset Management, you’ll have autonomy to shape the commercial and operational success of high-profile BESS projects. Your leadership will create and refine an Operational Readiness Framework, enabling smooth handovers and effective management of pre-operations timelines. You’ll align stakeholders, oversee operational agreements, budgets, and compliance, and streamline onboarding for new sites and systems.

Your expertise will empower you to build and coach the asset management team, design scalable systems, and facilitate efficient portfolio processes. You’ll collaborate across cross pillar teams, safeguard asset value, manage compliance, and lead risk documentation and mitigation across a portfolio of operational assets. Your hands-on approach to contract lifecycle management and vendor oversight ensures seamless operations, while your ability to deliver budgets, forecasts, and reporting keeps all stakeholders informed.

With a strong focus on continuous improvement, you’ll drive progress across people, processes, systems, and vendors—ensuring that operations remain compliant, efficient, scalable and future-ready.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop and implement an Operational Readiness Framework, ensuring seamless handovers between departments.
  • Manage pre-operations timelines and stakeholder alignment across project pipelines.
  • Oversee operational agreements, budgets, and compliance requirements.
  • Lead onboarding of new sites into key systems and update operational documentation.
  • Build, coach, and align the asset management team across core workstreams.
  • Design scalable asset management systems and enable efficient portfolio-wide processes.
  • Liaise with internal teams and cross-functional units to support asset value, compliance, and risk mitigation.
  • Maintain the Operational Risk Register and ensure accurate risk documentation.
  • Lead contract lifecycle management for operational services, including procurement and vendor oversight.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and reporting across all obligations and permits.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and performance reports for stakeholders.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement in people, processes, systems, and vendors.

What you’ll bring:

Operational Readiness & Project Integration:

  • Lead operational readiness activities for new assets and systems.
  • Coordinate integration across project phases to ensure continuity.
  • Design and implement robust frameworks for smooth handover.
  • Develop procedures that support seamless transition between phases.

Financial Oversight & Budgeting:

  • Prepare and review operational budgets and forecasts.
  • Manage ongoing performance reporting for projects.
  • Provide financial insights to stakeholders at every organisational level.
  • Ensure accountability and transparency in budget management.

Contract Administration & Negotiation:

  • Oversee the full contract lifecycle from initiation to close-out.
  • Manage vendor selection and conduct agreement negotiations.
  • Ensure compliance for O&M and LTSA services.
  • Promote optimal service performance and risk mitigation.

Asset Management Systems Expertise:

  • Implement and maintain enterprise asset management systems.
  • Optimise platforms like CMMS, Document Management, and Compliance Tracking.
  • Utilise systems for efficient task management and reporting.
  • Enable informed decision-making across the operational portfolio.
