Akido is rebuilding the healthcare experience from the ground up. Through early interventions designed around social determinants of health (SDoH), world-class care focused on chronic disease, and human-centered technology, we believe we can build a healthcare model that allows for all patients to live their fullest lives. We are a fast-growing, impact-focused, Y Combinator company created out of the University of Southern California’s D-Health Lab with the idea that empowering government, healthcare, and nonprofit services with population-based data could help usher in a new era of preventive public health. Today we are building a full stack medical network that leverages our predictive capabilities to provide a frictionless experience for both our patients and care providers. 

Akido is scaling our Field Medicine and Case Management programs, which bring whole-person care to vulnerable populations, including unhoused individuals and those experiencing substance use or mental illness. We're building systems that work in the real world—and we need versatile problem solvers who can make things happen fast. As a Growth Ops Associate, you'll work directly with the Head of Safety Net Programs to stand up new workflows, launch essential services, and build systems that help our care teams scale their impact. From launching transportation partnerships to building patient outreach systems from scratch, you'll play a key role in bringing structure to ambiguity.

What You’ll Do

You’ll be handed ambiguous problems, trusted with ownership, and expected to turn ideas into real, working systems that our field teams rely on every day. Projects might include:

• Launch a transportation partnership to ensure staff have immediate access to vehicles for patient transport.
• Stand up a phone-based outreach operation to enroll high-risk patients into Enhanced Care Management (ECM).
• Design and implement a case conference system that ensures every patient receives multidisciplinary review—and build the accountability loops to make sure it happens.
• Create scalable processes for enrollment, dispatch, and field scheduling.
• Build and iterate on KPI dashboards and internal tools to track program success.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and analytics teams to bring automation and AI into your workflows.

Who You Are

• 3–5 years of experience in operations, generalist, or consulting roles—preferably in healthcare, startups, or public service.
• A doer and a builder: you thrive in messy environments and love bringing order to chaos.
• Structured thinker with strong operational instincts—able to design processes that work in the field.
• Data- and tech-savvy: you regularly use tools like ChatGPT, spreadsheets, and dashboards to drive decisions.
• Energized by mission: you want your work to directly impact the lives of vulnerable people.
• Comfortable being on-site, close to the action, and getting your hands dirty.
• Comfortable with commutes around the Greater LA area to be on the ground with our care delivery teams, occasionally driving to Bakersfield, CA
