Commissioning Manager

We are looking for a High Voltage / Commissioning Manager to support utility-scale renewable energy projects across the United States. In this role, you’ll oversee high-voltage and commissioning activities in the field, ensuring systems are executed safely, correctly, and in alignment with project scope, contract requirements, and commissioning plans. You’ll serve as a key onsite leader coordinating across EPC contractors, utilities, and internal teams to drive system reliability, quality, and successful project delivery.
What You’ll Do
- Overseeing high-voltage and commissioning activities in alignment with project scope, contract requirements, and commissioning plans.
- Reviewing and validating execution plans, including means and methods, schedules, safety protocols, environmental measures, and QA/QC procedures.
- Monitoring field activities to ensure compliance, documentation accuracy, and quality standards are consistently met.
- Conducting system reliability and quality checks for MET stations, SCADA systems, HV facilities, and utility interconnections.
- Identifying deficiencies or non-conforming work and ensuring timely correction and documentation.
- Tracking commissioning progress, milestones, and production metrics to ensure schedules are achieved.
- Participating in weekly and monthly coordination meetings with clients, EPC partners, and internal teams.
- Ensuring Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures and safety protocols are properly implemented and followed.
- Supporting daily commissioning coordination meetings across all disciplines and providing onsite walkthroughs for stakeholders as needed.
- Coordinating with utilities for HV transmission and substation interconnections and managing related logistics such as transformer delivery and staging.
- Collaborating with construction, engineering, and commissioning teams to ensure a unified execution approach.
- Providing regular updates to leadership on project status, risks, milestones, and key achievements.
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, renewable energy, or a related field.
- Proven experience managing high-voltage systems and commissioning activities, ideally within renewable energy or utility-scale projects.
- Strong understanding of HV systems, commissioning processes, and safety requirements.
- Skilled in field coordination, quality inspections, and compliance oversight.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple workstreams onsite.
- Strong communicator who collaborates effectively with EPC partners, utilities, clients, and internal teams.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Adobe tools.
- OSHA 30 certified or equivalent safety training.
- Willing and able to travel 100% to project sites across the United States.
- Able to work independently, make informed decisions, and adapt to changing project needs.
