We are looking for a Director of Traditional Energy to lead pre-construction efforts for natural gas-fired generation projects. This role sits at the center of early-stage project development, bringing together engineering, procurement, and construction to ensure projects are well-defined, de-risked, and set up for successful execution. You will play a key role in shaping project strategy, advising on technical decisions, and driving alignment across teams during the most critical phases of development. This is a highly impactful opportunity to help shape the direction of major energy projects from day one, working closely with experienced teams, influencing key decisions, and ensuring complex infrastructure projects are set up the right way from the start.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and advise on conceptual design and front-end engineering for natural gas-fired generation facilities
- Develop and review project schedules, cost estimates, and risk assessments
- Coordinate pre-construction deliverables across engineering, procurement, and construction teams
- Provide high-level input on the selection of major equipment and systems
- Review engineering documentation to ensure alignment with project specifications and industry standards
- Identify opportunities to optimize performance, efficiency, and constructability
- Drive alignment across cross-functional teams and ensure clear communication throughout pre-construction
- Act as a key technical and strategic advisor to internal stakeholders and project leadership
Who You Are
- You have a "Do what needs to be done" mindset, taking ownership beyond assigned tasks and stepping in wherever needed to keep projects, teams, and customers supported and running smoothly.
- 7+ years of experience in traditional energy development and/or construction
- Strong background in natural gas generation or similar conventional energy infrastructure
- Experience working across pre-construction, engineering, and project execution
- Ability to evaluate technical designs, schedules, and cost structures at a high level
- Proven ability to lead and influence cross-disciplinary teams
- Strong communication and decision-making skills
Nice to Have
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Experience supporting large-scale energy or infrastructure projects from concept through execution
- Willingness or ability to relocate to Las Vegas, NV
