Position Overview
Aksia is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated professional to join our team as an Alternative Investment Strategist. This role is primarily focused on conducting primary research that reacts to real-time alternative investment news flow, and secondarily on sharing those insights by presenting at industry conferences and webinars. The role combines deep research expertise and thought leadership, making it an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on analyzing market developments and producing actionable narratives.
This role can be based anywhere in the US, with a preference for New York City and will include regular interaction with Aksia colleagues, clients, and partner organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
Primary Research & Content Creation
- Conduct primary research reacting to daily alternative investment news flow, market developments, and macroeconomic shifts.
- Produce concise, compelling thought pieces by leveraging existing company data, research, and fresh market insights.
- Reshape and synthesize complex internal research to create a widely accessible narrative for external audiences.
- Develop innovative topics and angles relevant to fundamental alternatives research and interval funds.
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitor strategies, and market dynamics to enhance research relevance and quality.
Speaking Engagements & Thought Leadership
- Speak at industry conferences, panels, and webinars to articulate the firm's research insights and thought leadership.
- Provide accessible explanations of complex research findings to engage and educate the broader market.
- Establish the company as a leading voice in the interval fund and fundamental alternatives space.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in investment research, asset management, consulting, or a related field, with a strong focus on alternative investments.
- Deep understanding of fundamental analysis of alternative investment strategies and asset classes.
- Exceptional ability to produce clear, concise, and engaging written research materials.
- Confident and articulate presentation skills with a track record of speaking at industry events, webinars, or conferences.
- Ability to translate complex research insights into actionable, narrative-driven ideas for diverse audiences.
- Strong knowledge of alternative investment strategies and semi-liquid funds
The estimated base salary range for this position is $180,000 to $275,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. Aksia provides a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and local cost of labor.
