Position Overview
Aksia is seeking a Junior IT Systems Administrator to join our Information Technology team in Athens. This is a hands-on opportunity for an IT professional who enjoys helping users, troubleshooting technology issues and learning how enterprise IT environments are managed.
The initial focus of the role will be day-to-day IT support for our Athens office, including ticket management, end-user support, hardware troubleshooting and equipment setup. As you develop your skills and demonstrate the ability to take on additional responsibility, you will have the opportunity to contribute to broader systems and infrastructure projects alongside more experienced members of the IT team.
Responsibilities
- End-User Support: Provide first-line technical support to employees, assisting them with hardware and software issues, network connectivity problems, and general IT inquiries.
- Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve technical problems related to desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment, both onsite and remotely.
- System Maintenance: Assist in routine maintenance tasks, including software updates, system patches, and antivirus scans, to ensure optimal performance and security of systems.
- User Account Management: Administer user accounts and access permissions, creating and modifying accounts as per organizational requirements.
- Hardware and Software Installation: Assist in the deployment and set up of new hardware and software for employees, ensuring compatibility and proper functioning.
- Asset Management: Maintain accurate records of IT assets, including hardware and software inventory, and assist in procurement activities.
- Network Support: Assist in troubleshooting network-related issues, including connectivity problems, Wi-Fi configurations, and LAN setups.
- Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for IT processes, procedures, and issue resolutions to improve overall efficiency and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in IT as general support or junior systems administration
- Practical experience supporting Windows 11 users troubleshooting common issues
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and basic concepts relating to user accounts, permissions and endpoint management
- Exposure to Active Directory or Microsoft Entra ID
- Basic understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi and connectivity troubleshooting
- Experience using any ticketing or service desk system
- Strong troubleshooting, organization and prioritization skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of data quality.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Collaborative approach, with the ability to communicate and work effectively across different teams and departments
- Familiarity with PowerShell is a plus
