About the position:
Alamar Biosciences is seeking a highly productive Scientist II for innovating technologies and products based on the proprietary NULISA platform, which enables quantitative measurements of biomarkers with high sensitivity and multiplexing based on qPCR or NGS. The position will have interdepartmental interactions with product development and instrument engineering. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in molecular biology, biochemistry, assay development and high-throughput data analysis. The fast-moving nature of the work requires excellent attention to detail, effective communication skills, the ability to multi-task and work independently, and be flexible with tasks and schedules. This role is full-time onsite in our office in Fremont, California.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Design, execute, and troubleshoot experiments for single-plex and multiplex immunoassays
- NGS-related reagent development and analysis
- High-Throughput data analysis using bioinformatics and statistics tools to extract insights
- Collaborate well with cross-functional teams
- Prepare data summaries, internal reports, presentations, manuscripts, and product-related technical documents
- Building and maintaining team culture
Minimum Qualifications
- PhD degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or a related field
- Expertise in immunoassay, reagent development, NGS library preparation, and data analysis
- Proficient in high-throughput data analysis with working knowledge of R or Python
- Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with a broad range of people, including team members and advisers
- Ability to organize work and set priorities, considering the needs of the lab and the other units/groups involved
- Detail-oriented and quality-focused
- Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment and with others within a multidisciplinary team environment
- Consistent, positive, can-do attitude
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of industry experience
- Experience with immunoassay development and technologies
- Experience with single-plex or multiplexed immunoassay platforms
- Knowledge of system automation
- Excellent skills to communicate through writing and presentations to a variety of audiences.
The base salary range for this full-time position is $120,000 - $150,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The ranges displayed on each job posting reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries but are subject to change if the leveling of the role is adjusted.
