
Temporary Laboratory Assistant - Technology Access Program

We are seeking a highly motivated Laboratory Assistant to join our Technology Access Program (TAP) team. The ideal candidate will have a strong willingness and ability to work with biological specimens, and will play a key role in supporting day-to-day laboratory operations. Responsibilities include managing incoming and outgoing samples, maintaining accurate inventory of laboratory reagents and consumables, coordinating instrument scheduling, and assisting with domestic and international shipments. This position reports to our TAP Scientist and requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards in a fast-paced environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive and log incoming biological samples from TAP customers, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to sample handling protocols; maintain clear and timely communication regarding sample status and management.
- Coordinate outbound shipments of reagents and samples, collaborating with the Shipping team to generate shipping labels and prepare accurate customs documentation for domestic and international deliveries.
- Serve as a liaison between R&D, Manufacturing, and Purchasing teams to maintain accurate inventory of consumables and reagents to ensure seamless laboratory operations and timely replenishment.
- Support the assay team with instrument scheduling and general laboratory management, helping to maintain organization, readiness, and resource availability for daily workflows.
- Contribute to additional lab tasks as needed, demonstrating flexibility and initiative to keep pace with TAP’s fast-moving and evolving project timelines.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED with 2+ years’ experience in laboratory setting; or Bachelors with 0-1 years of experience
- Experience handling biological specimens, with a solid understanding of laboratory safety protocols and training in bloodborne pathogen procedures
- Customer-focused with excellent communication skills, adept at working with cross-functional teams and delivering results in fast-paced, collaborative environments
- Experience working in ISO 13485 and GMP environment a plus
- Experience working with major shipping carriers, including FedEx, UPS, and DHL is a plus
- Available to work Monday–Friday (9am to 6pm). This role will be eligible for overtime. The work schedule may be subject to change based on business need.
- Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds
The base hourly range for this temporary full-time position is $25 - $30. We offer many benefits at our office, such as daily personal catered lunch, onsite gym, yoga and pickleball/basketball court. Our salary ranges are determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The ranges displayed on each job posting reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries but are subject to change if the leveling of the role is adjusted.
