
Director, BioPharma Business Development

Position Summary
The Director, BioPharma Business Development will lead strategic partnerships and commercial initiatives within large Pharmaceutical companies, biotech and Contract Research Organizations to increase adoption and utilization of Alamar’s ultra-sensitive proteomics platform. This role bridges science and business, driving growth through collaborations with biopharma, biotechnology companies, and clinical research organizations. The successful candidate will have a strong track record in sales and a deep understanding of protein science, disease biomarkers, drug development and the regulatory landscape. They will also be exceptional at identifying, negotiating, and managing commercial opportunities with pharma, biotech, and CRO companies.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Partnerships: Identify, negotiate, and manage commercial opportunities in the BioPharma and CRO market segment
- Market Expansion: Develop and execute strategies to expand Alamar’s presence in drug discovery and translational research.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with R&D, regulatory, and commercial teams to align product development with market needs.
- Customer Engagement: Build relationships with key opinion leaders, clinical researchers, and decision-makers in BioPharma and CROs.
- Regulatory Insight: Provide input on clinical validation strategies and regulatory pathways (e.g., FDA, CE-IVD).
- Revenue Growth: Drive revenue through commercial partnerships and strategic deals.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree (PhD, MD, or MBA) in life sciences or related field.
- 10+ years in sales or business development, preferably in proteomics, diagnostics, or biotech.
- Customer centric approach and understanding client needs to translate them into product or partnership opportunities.
- Proven track record of closing strategic deals and managing complex partnerships.
- Deep understanding of drug development, clinical trial design, biomarker validation, and regulatory frameworks.
- Innovative thinking to identify novel opportunities for technology application and growth
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
Travel:
Up to 50% domestic and international travel may be required.
The base salary range for this full-time position is $230,000 - $250,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The ranges displayed on each job posting reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries but are subject to change if the leveling of the role is adjusted.
