
Sr. Contracts Specialist

Position Summary:
As the Sr. Contracts Specialist, you will be responsible for reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts with customers, ensuring compliance with company policies, collaborating with sales teams to close deals, and managing the contract lifecycle by identifying potential risks and mitigating them, often requiring experience in legal terms, contract law, and strong negotiation skills to secure profitable agreements for the company.
- Thoroughly review customer contracts, identify key terms and conditions, redline changes, and draft new contracts to align with company standards and legal requirements.
- Lead contract negotiations with customers, balance customer needs with company interests to achieve optimal outcomes on pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
- Ensure all contracts adhere to internal compliance guidelines and relevant laws, including data privacy and export controls.
- Work closely with sales teams, operations, legal counsel, and other departments to ensure smooth contract execution and address any contractual issues.
- Identify potential risks within contracts, developing mitigation strategies, and communicating these to relevant stakeholders.
- Track contract milestones, manage renewals, and address contract amendments throughout the contract lifecycle.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of standard contract templates to streamline the contracting process.
- Provide training and guidance to sales teams on contract terms and negotiation strategies.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business, law, finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in contract management focused on life sciences or biotech
- Proven experience in commercial contract management, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex agreements
- Strong understanding of legal principles and contract law
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite
The base salary range for this full-time position is $110,000 - $130,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The ranges displayed on each job posting reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries but are subject to change if the leveling of the role is adjusted.
