
Scientist I - Technology Development

Position summary
We are seeking a Scientist, Technology Development, to join our technology development team. The successful candidate will contribute to the advancement of our proprietary protein detection platform. This role involves working on multiple concurrent projects in a dynamic environment, with the goal of making a meaningful impact on life science research and early disease diagnostics.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute experiments for early-phase new product development and optimization of existing technologies to advance Alamar’s NGS-based high-plex immunoassay platform.
- Apply advanced laboratory techniques to support innovative technology development and assay optimization.
- Generate high-quality data and maintain comprehensive, accurate records of experimental procedures, reagents, methodologies, and results.
- Analyze experimental data, evaluate assay performance, and troubleshoot technical issues to ensure robustness and reliability.
- Collaborate with bioinformatics and engineering teams to integrate automation and data analysis workflows on Alamar’s proprietary instrument platform.
Qualifications
- PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline; or M.S. with a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with ELISA, qPCR, or similar assay platforms, including data generation, analysis, and interpretation.
- Experience in Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) preferred
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as R, JMP, or GraphPad Prism.
- Demonstrated ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain detailed documentation.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Experience in developing multiplex assays.
- Familiarity with automated liquid handling systems.
- Experience in In Vitro Diagnostics (IVDs) and/or Laboratory Developed Tests (LTDs) product development, particularly involving ELISA immunoassays is advantageous
- Self-motivated with a proactive attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex projects independently.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
The base salary range for this full-time position is $120,000 - $140,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The ranges displayed on each job posting reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries but are subject to change if the leveling of the role is adjusted.
