
Senior Director of Product Management – Assay & Consumables Portfolio

We seek a strong leader with extensive experience and knowledge in the proteomics and immunoassay market to lead our assay and consumables portfolio. This role will own all product management responsibilities for a growing portfolio of assay and reagent products, acting as the product champion to build strategy and roadmap, launch products, and drive business growth.
The Senior Director will lead Product Management with a focus on Consumables and Content Strategy and manage a team of product managers. This position requires strong technical and business acumen and a proven track record of growing businesses.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess market trends, customer needs, and competitors to find growth and product innovation opportunities.
- Direct new product introductions (NPI) from concept to launch, including research, requirements, value propositions, transition planning, and training development.
- Develop and execute content strategy for consumables portfolio to ensure adoption and differentiation.
- Build and maintain KOL networks; coordinate and lead meetings to capture input on assay content and customer requirements.
- Become an evangelist for Alamar and present at scientific conferences and customer sites to promote products and thought leadership.
- Oversee portfolio supply, demand, revenue, margin, and pricing; provide regular business reviews and forecasts to management, finance, and manufacturing based on a deep understanding of the business.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Sales, Program Management, and Manufacturing to deliver business objectives.
- Lead and mentor a team of product managers, fostering collaboration and accountability.
- Drive project scope, budget, and schedule to ensure successful delivery.
- Resolve conflicts and manage multiple stakeholders
- Travel up to 25% (domestic and international).
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Deep understanding of the proteomics and immunoassay market.
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences required; MBA or D. preferred.
- 15–20 years of product management experience, including leadership of teams.
- Proven track record and ability to develop business models and grow revenue.
- Strong technical and business acumen with experience in life sciences marketing, product management, and market research.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to present technical information to diverse audiences.
- Strong customer-facing experience and ability to build lasting relationships.
- Have strong focus on culture, teamwork and mission driven.
The base salary range for this full-time position is $272,000 - $295,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The ranges displayed on each job posting reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries but are subject to change if the leveling of the role is adjusted.
