As a Senior Software Engineer you will own projects and have the opportunity to work across a variety of technical areas using the latest technologies while using Agile development methods. Our team is distributed across multiple time zones so you must be able to communicate effectively within such an environment and work independently on self-directed tasks.
Alarm.com values working together and collaborating in person. We are building a new team in Krakow. Our employees work fully from the office with possibility to work remotely occasionally.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop full stack software for a wide variety of platforms and technologies.
- Engage in the research, evaluation, and application of new technologies and methodologies to solve challenging problems.
- Take part in the entire project life cycle, from the development of requirements to deployment.
- Work hard and be flexible: we have quick development cycles, evolving requirements, and lots of cross-team collaboration.
- Exercise good judgment. Know when to work quickly, and when to build a robust solution. Your work will be used by multiple business units, so you will need to consider many use cases when developing.
- Bring your ideas! We want our engineers to collaborate on product development, not blindly build to a spec.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Tried ability to design and implement server-based applications with .NET, C# and SQL Server
- 5+ years of professional software development experience
- English proficiency. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong object-oriented programming skills in C#
- Database design and SQL development experience working with structured and unstructured data
- Strong background in microservices architecture and distributed systems
- Experience with event-driven systems and Kafka
- Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration
- Experience with common software development stacks
- Experience working with remote teams is advantageous but not mandatory
- Familiarity with defining and managing gRPC contracts using Protobuf
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with various monitoring and observability tools (Wavefront, Grafana or Sentry)
- Experience with OBD devices, firmware integration, wireless connectivity like Bluetooth/WiFi and automotive protocols
