Product Operations Specialist

Mexico City, Mexico

Do work that matters.

At AlertMedia, everything we do supports our mission: To save lives and minimize loss by identifying active threats globally and facilitating timely communications when an emergency threatens personal safety and business continuity.

Our core values drives us in our important mission of keeping people safe:

  • We’re humans not robots
  • Customers always come first
  • We work better together
  • Simplicity is our strength
  • Our reputation is priceless
  • Hard work pays off

As one of the fastest growing software companies in the nation, we’re focused on finding the best talent and building the best team to continue accelerating our rapid growth to keep up with our demand.

Our Product Operations Specialist works directly with Product Management and development teams to help drive consistent, iterative product improvement and make sure every day we’re developing and delivering solutions that help keep our customers safe. On one day, that might mean facilitating Sprint Planning & Retrospective sessions, while on another it could mean making sure requirements documents are translated into well fleshed out tickets with clear priority in the backlog. You’re not there to dictate the one true process to end all processes or to be the CEO of piece of the product, but rather to help each team find what works best for them with an eye towards Agile values and principles and ensuring we’re solving our customers problems while not neglecting those “keeping the lights on” type tasks.

Who you are:

You love using your strong organizational and interpersonal skills to help others be the best they can be. Working on a team to build a product that solves real customer challenges excites you. You’ve actually read the Agile Manifesto and know that it’s about more than just renaming all your meetings and writing user stories. When a conversation goes off the rails, you can rein it in while making sure everyone feels like they’ve been heard. You’re comfortable making day to day decisions about the priorities of different tasks and saying “no” to some tasks when you know it means you can say “yes” to something more important.

What you get to every day:

  • Foster a team spirit of collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate regular meetings across several development teams, including stand-ups, retros, plannings, and backlog grooming.
  • Use tools like Jira and Confluence to help facilitate an understanding of your teams' workload both within and across teams.
  • Track and regularly report on teams' progress towards goals and milestones.
  • Translate product requirements documents into workable, well fleshed out tickets for your teams.
  • Triage and prioritize day-to-day activities related to features, enhancements, and bug fixes.
  • Consume and help ensure proper instrumentation of product and engineering success metrics.
  • Coordinate schedule, handoff, and project status updates at each stage of development process (definition, design, development, testing, documentation, enablement).
  • Use strong verbal and written communication skills in collaboration with other engineering and product teams.
  • Contribute to AlertMedia’s culture, values, and vision for the future.

What you bring to the role:

  • 2+ years of experience in a Scrum Master, Product Owner, or similar role with teams building a SaaS product
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and quickly resolve conflict
  • Ability to make tough decisions about priority given finite resources
  • Strong understanding of Agile values and principles and how to apply them to software development
  • Familiarity with multiple Agile frameworks and techniques such as Scrum, XP, Kanban, etc..
  • Strong desire to learn, grow, and experiment with new tools, processes, and frameworks
  • English proficiency oral and written required
  • This is a hybrid position (2 days a week) in our prime offices in the Reforma area of Mexico City where you’ll get to collaborate with our engineering, product, and customer operations team

Why you’ll love working at AlertMedia:

  • Competitive Base Salary
  • Annual Company Bonus
  • 100% paid Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits for employees
  • Christmas Bonus (Aguinaldo)
  • Holiday and Vacation Days
  • Additional Vacation Bonus
  • All computer equipment provided to our employees
  • Amazing rewards and incentives – we love celebrating each other
  • A Best Places to Work company 9 years in a row and numerous other awards
  • Ongoing career development opportunities through our Learning & Development team - we love investing in our people!

Race & Ethnicity Definitions

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
