DevOps Engineer

Mexico City, Mexico

Do work that matters.

At AlertMedia, everything we do supports our mission: To save lives and minimize loss by identifying active threats globally and facilitating timely communications when an emergency threatens personal safety and business continuity.

Our core values drive us in our important mission of keeping people safe:

  • We’re humans not robots
  • Customers always come first
  • We work better together
  • Simplicity is our strength
  • Our reputation is priceless
  • Hard work pays off

AlertMedia is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our collaborative Engineering team and help us continue to evolve how we build and operate our modern SaaS platform. Our infrastructure is modern and well-established: containerized applications, Infrastructure as Code, strong observability, and SRE/DevOps best practices are part of how we work today. This role will also emphasize how we continue that evolution by finding practical ways to improve reliability, security, efficiency, and developer experience.  This includes the thoughtful adoption of emerging AI-driven tech, agentic solutions, and automated tooling.

As part of a small, experienced team, you’ll partner closely with other DevOps, SDET, and Software Engineers to operate and improve a platform that our customers rely on to keep them safe during critical local, national, and global events.

Who you are:

You are a DevOps Engineer with solid experience building and operating services in AWS. You’re comfortable writing Infrastructure as Code, building CI/CD pipelines, and generally managing complex production systems at scale.

You’re also curious and forward-looking. You pay attention to how AI-assisted tooling and automation are changing software development and operations, and you’re interested in applying those capabilities where they make sense: improving workflows, reducing troubleshooting and operational effort, and helping teams deliver software more efficiently and safely. You enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and partnering with Engineers across the organization to solve real problems.

What you get to do every day:

  • Develop deep familiarity with the AlertMedia platform and the AWS services that support it
  • Design, operate, and improve infrastructure using services such as ECS, EC2, RDS/Aurora, SQS, SNS, Lambda, CloudFormation, Docker, and Linux
  • Manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Terragrunt
  • Help maintain a secure, reliable, and scalable platform that cannot fail during high-impact events
  • Continuously evaluate and improve system security, with a strong emphasis on data protection
  • Identify opportunities to use automation and emerging AI-assisted tools to:
  • Improve monitoring, alerting, and operational visibility
  • Reduce repetitive or manual operational work
  • Support faster investigation and resolution of issues
  • Help evaluate, implement, document, and maintain tools that support Engineering and Operations
  • Work in an Agile environment using tools like Git, JIRA, Jenkins, and Slack
  • Contribute ideas that help AlertMedia continue to improve its platform and operational practices
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering and Security teams to reinforce best practices
  • Contribute positively to AlertMedia’s culture, values, and long-term technical direction

What you bring to the role:

  • B.A. or B.S. degree desired
  • 3+ years of experience managing cloud infrastructure (Amazon Web Services) in an Engineering / Software Development setting
  • Experience with network, infrastructure, container orchestration, and application security best practices
  • Strong expertise with Linux, Docker, containerization, and networking fundamentals
  • Experience managing large scale deployments
  • Well versed in managing multiple AWS accounts and environments
  • Experience implementing “shift left” principles and quality automation in CI/CD environments
  • Knowledge of authentications technologies (SAML, OAuth)
  • Proficiency in at least one coding language (Python is a plus)
  • Usage and comfort utilizing AI coding assistants and modern software development practices
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage working on multiple projects in parallel
  • The ability and desire to work in a fast-paced challenging environment
  • Excellent English communication skills both verbal and written
  • Position is open for remote work location in Mexico
  • This role is not open to sponsorship. AlertMedia does not sponsor candidates

Interview Process: We have 4 steps in our interview process. Hiring Manager interview, technical interview, leadership interview with a final onsite interview in Mexico City.

Why you’ll love working at AlertMedia:

  • Annual Company Bonus
  • 100% Employer-Paid Medical, Dental, and Vision Coverage

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
