Sales Development Representative

We're looking for a Junior Business Development Representative (BDR)  to be part of the fast paced xDR team. This role is a unique opportunity to start your career in the Sales and Marketing function of a SaaS technology  company, while discovering different industries, personas, and opportunities within our prospects and customers.

As a Junior BDR at Algolia, you will be responsible for strategically qualifying business prospects for the Algolia sales team. You will be in direct contact with Algolia prospects from across the globe, in order to qualify their interest, respond to their inquiry, set up meetings with Account Executives, and follow the initial stages of the sales cycle.

As a Junior BDR at Algolia, you will play a critical role in helping expand our business opportunities across our Sales teams. You will take part in a wide variety of responsibilities that will help foster, qualify, and mature our pipeline with our potential customers. 

You will have the unique opportunity to work cross functionally within a high paced Global xDR Org. You will be reporting directly to a Regional xDR Manager or Team Lead whichever is appropriate.

The  Junior BDR is adaptable, energetic, self motivated and has a growth mindset.  They are responsible for responding to inbound requests from the non assigned accounts, to agreed SLA’s, with the primary focus to drive highly qualified opportunities into the sales pipeline.  

They work closely with the other BDRs, Account Executives, Marketing and many other teams to ensure that they  are responding to inquiries and accounts that are engaging with Algolia; ensuring that they are following best prospecting practices, inspiring our potential customers, working with our partners effectively in developing a robust pipeline for the Sales teams.

This is a high impact  role for people who are looking for their first role in sales. It requires someone with a growth, self-motivated and willinging to learn mindset, who is able to work autonomously and continuously strives to improve both personally and professionally.

YOUR ROLE WILL CONSIST OF:

  • Respond and qualify inbound leads, work closely with Account Executives to better understand the prospects' project.
  • Build quality, qualified pipeline from inbound inquiries.
  • Master Algolia's Product and Sales process.
  • Build relationships with prospects, understand their challenges and show how an Algolia platform can support their business.
  • Work closely with the Marketing teams and other cross functional teams to ensure accounts and inbound inquiries are followed up appropriately, to agreed SLA’s and aligned to the company messaging.
  • Use a variety of tools to identify prospect key contacts at target accounts and build a personalized approach, based upon establishing a strong, long lasting business relationship for Algolia.
  • Be an active part of the team(s), sharing best practices and participating in the team meetings.
  • Use the Salesforce platform to manage, track and report sales activities and results.
  • Work with Sales Ops and Enablement to attend training and feedback on processes and courses so that they can be continually refined and updated.
  • As requested, support the Field Events team by attending events and representing Algolia.
  • Where appropriate work with the Algolia Partner teams on Partner driven opportunities and liaise with the Partner Account Managers on inbound partner leads.
  • Attend and contribute to meetings as required.
  • Use to best effect all the software and tools provided to support the role.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

OPTIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Additional Language speaking would be a plus (ideally French, German, Dutch or Spanish)
  • Ability to Travel - 30%
  • Experience using Salesforce, Outreach, and  LinkedIn Sales Nav.
  • Preference for candidates with experience at our current stage and beyond (over 10,000 customers, $50-300M ARR range, high growth, lots of change and building internal infrastructure).
  • Good understanding of working with the Google Office Suite
  • BS or BA in marketing, communication, business or related area of study.

The annual total cash compensation range (base salary and commission) for this role reflects US market pay data within this location. The exact compensation offered for this role may vary depending on specific location and job-related knowledge, technical skills, and experience; and is only one part of our Total Rewards philosophy to compensate and recognize employees for their work.

Remote US: On-Target Earnings Pay Range

$61,500 - $75,000 USD
