About the Role
We're seeking an experienced and highly motivated Remote Contract Medical Biller to support our fast-paced billing department operations. This role will be instrumental in managing the end-to-end billing cycle, contributing to our high-performing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and ensuring excellent patient satisfaction. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in an independent work environment and can seamlessly integrate into a remote team. Must possess strong critical thinking skills to analyze complex information, troubleshoot issues, and make informed decisions.

What You’ll Do
- Manage the full revenue cycle process from patient registration through claims resolution.
- Accurately submit and track medical claims to various insurance payers.
- Perform accounts receivable (A/R) follow-up, identifying and resolving denied, underpaid, or unpaid claims through critical analysis of claim details and payer policies.
- Communicate effectively and empathetically with patients regarding billing inquiries, benefit explanations, and escalated concerns, often requiring the ability to quickly understand and address complex situations.
- Research and resolve complex billing issues and patient disputes, applying critical thinking to identify root causes and develop effective solutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., clinical staff, operations team) to ensure accurate and timely billing information.
- Utilize and maintain accurate data within practice management and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Contribute to special projects as assigned to optimize billing processes and improve departmental efficiency, leveraging critical thinking to identify areas for improvement and propose solutions.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Stay updated on payer regulations, coding guidelines, and industry best practices relevant to telehealth.
Who You Are
- Minimum of 1 year of proven experience in end-to-end medical billing and revenue cycle management.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
- Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills to analyze complex billing scenarios, identify discrepancies, and formulate effective resolutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address claims issues and patient concerns.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional and compassionate approach to patient interactions.
- Proficiency in using productivity tools such as Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel for data tracking and analysis.
- Experience working effectively within a remote team environment.
- A strong commitment to achieving and exceeding performance metrics (KPIs).
Preferred Qualifications (A Plus):
- Experience with Candid practice management software.
- Experience with Elation Health EHR system.
Technical Requirements:
- Reliable high-speed internet connection.
- Dedicated, private workspace conducive to remote work.
- Proficiency with other tools (e.g., Google Meet, Slack).
