Position Overview:
We are seeking an International Growth Lead to drive our global expansion strategy within the defense and security sectors. This role is ideal for a strategic and dynamic leader with deep expertise in the DoD or Defense Industry and a proven track record in navigating the complexities of Foreign Military Sales (FMS), Foreign Military Financing (FMF), and Direct Commercial Sales (DCS). The ideal candidate will have extensive international experience and a passion for building sustainable growth in global markets.
What You’ll Do:
- Global Strategy Development: Lead efforts to identify and execute growth opportunities in international markets, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall objectives.
- Market Entry and Expansion: Establish a presence in new regions by navigating regulatory landscapes, building local partnerships, and aligning internal resources to support market expansion.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate relationships with foreign governments, industry leaders, and key decision-makers to build trust and secure long-term partnerships.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, marketing, operations, and product teams to tailor offerings for international clients and enable operational readiness.
- International Representation: Represent the company at global forums, trade shows, and strategic meetings with foreign stakeholders to elevate the company’s profile.
- Data-Driven Growth: Conduct market analysis, assess competitive landscapes, and provide actionable insights to refine strategies and measure success.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor team members to foster a culture of excellence and innovation.
What You’ll Need:
- 10+ years of experience in the DoD or Defense Industry, with a preference for start-up or fast-growth environments.
- 3-5 years of direct experience navigating FMS, FMF, and DCS processes with demonstrated success.
- 5+ years of defense industry sales experience or 10+ years of DoD acquisition experience (military or civilian).
- 10+ years of management or leadership experience.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally on a frequent basis.
You’ll Stand Out:
- Prior service in special operations, intelligence agencies, or defense/security cooperation offices (military or civilian).
- Advanced degree in business, technology, or a related field.
- Proven international sales experience in defense or security markets
- Bi-lingual language proficiency and cultural adaptability
- Significant overseas experience, whether through residency or significant travel.
