Team Overview
As a Web Content Strategist, you are a vital part of the Marketing team. In this role, you will report to the Senior Director of Digital Marketing and be responsible for ensuring that website content drives measurable results throughout the marketing funnel, supporting donor and user acquisition, engagement, and conversion. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners in campaign, creative, social media, web development, and communications to translate audience insights, analytics, and SEO trends into actionable improvements, strategic recommendations, and future-focused enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and optimize website content to strengthen donor and user engagement across the full marketing funnel (awareness, engagement, conversion).
- Partner with campaign, creative, social media, web development, and communications teams to ensure that website content supports strategic marketing priorities and audience needs.
- Deliver ongoing, actionable recommendations and insights to inform content strategy and drive measurable improvements.
- Lead content-focused analysis of website performance, using SEO, behavioral data, and audience insights to inform actionable improvements for donor and user engagement.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure website content aligns with campaign themes, creative strategy, and overall marketing objectives.
- Provide expert recommendations and support management decisions to elevate the effectiveness of web content throughout the acquisition, nurture, and conversion funnel.
- Guide website content priorities and best practices for digital storytelling, educational modules, landing pages, and ongoing page optimization.
- Collaborate closely with Audience Growth and Donors Engagement teams, ensuring recommendations and analysis support broader strategic objectives and management decisions
- Evaluate and interpret website analytics (traffic, engagement patterns, conversion rates), linking content elements to user outcomes and donor behaviors.
- Recommend enhancements to on-site messaging, page structure, and visual content to address specific gaps and leverage opportunities identified in campaign and audience data.
- Advise campaign, web development, and creative teams on placement, format, and timing of high-impact website content, including campaign landing pages and donor resources.
- Share regular performance insights, identifying which types of content (stories, resources, education, CTAs) best move audiences to act and present recommendations to directors.
- Research and report on new trends for web content formats, personalization, navigation, and use of AI to further donor acquisition, engagement, and conversion.
- Maintain a prioritized content calendar with strategic input, ensuring updates and new content releases support marketing and donor lifecycle plans.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, digital media, journalism, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 5+ years of professional experience in website content strategy, content marketing, or digital optimization.
- Minimum of 2 years contributing to digital marketing projects, leading initiatives, or collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with multi-channel digital campaigns or applying audience insights to website strategy.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies (AI, automation tools), user experience (UX) principles, and data-driven content planning.
- Skills in stakeholder engagement, storytelling, and content trend analysis that elevate website performance.
- Strong communication, collaboration, analytical thinking, and adaptability in dynamic environments.
- Proficiency with web analytics tools (such as Google Analytics), SEO fundamentals, and content management systems (CMS).
- Certifications in digital marketing, website strategy, analytics, or SEO are preferred
