Junior Procurement Coordinator

Glen Cove, New York

The Junior Procurement Coordinator supports Allied Maker’s buying team with day-to-day coordination, inventory management, and purchasing tasks. This is a hands-on role: on any given day, it spans purchase order follow-up, vendor communication, and walking the floor to verify stock levels physically. It is an excellent foundation for a career in operations, procurement, or supply chain in a real workshop environment.


Key Responsibilities

Purchasing Support

  • Create and issue purchase orders in NetSuite based on MRP signals, department requests, and senior buyer direction
  • Follow up with vendors on acknowledgements, ship dates, and shipping documentation
  • Maintain clean PO records, part/vendor cross-references, and pricing data in NetSuite

Inventory & Stock Checks

  • Perform regular physical stock checks, walking bin locations and comparing physical quantities to system counts
  • Support cycle counts and end-of-period inventory counts
  • Partner with Pre-Production Coordinators to maintain accurate bin locations and organization

Coordination Across Teams

  • Work closely with and assist the Quality Control department for QC'ing parts
  • Coordinate with Receiving to resolve PO and packing slip mismatches
  • Escalate shortages and delivery risks to senior procurement and affected teams early
  • Help expedite parts for custom orders or time-sensitive builds

Data & Housekeeping

  • Run basic reports (open POs, aging parts, stock positions) and flag items needing attention
  • Maintain organized vendor contact records and part-level notes

Required Qualifications

  • 0–2 years of experience in procurement, inventory, warehousing, or operations (internships acceptable)
  • Willingness to spend time on the shop floor verifying and locating parts
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple small tasks
  • Comfortable with spreadsheets, email, and ERP-based data entry
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Physically able to stand, walk, climb a ladder, and lift up to 35 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field
  • Familiarity with NetSuite or similar ERP/WMS systems
  • Exposure to manufacturing, lighting, furniture, or custom goods environments

  • Base salary range: $55,000 – $68,000 annually (based on experience)

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • On-site at the Glen Cove workshop
  • Split between desk work and the shop floor / receiving area
  • Active shop environment; PPE required where applicable
