Assistive Technology Technician

Aspire is searching for an Assistive Technology (AT) Technician to support Aspire Living & Learning’s Enabling Technology initiatives by installing, configuring, and maintaining assistive and enabling technologies for individuals receiving services. This role works directly with individuals, families, and caregivers across home and program settings to implement enabling and assistive technologies that enhance independence, safety, and quality of life. The specialist assesses needs, identifies opportunities for technology-based support, and helps individuals gain greater autonomy in their daily lives. 

Hours: M-F 8a-4p

Location: This position will be at one of our Aspire locations in Maryland, New Hampshire, or Massachusetts. 

Salary range: $50,000-$60,000 annually, based on education and experience

Qualifications: 

Education and Experience 

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Assistive Technology, Rehabilitation Technology, or related field preferred.  
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in IT support, assistive technology support, or technology training preferred.  

Skills and Competencies  

  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn and support a broad range of evolving technologies.  
  • Exceptional patience and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technology concepts in clear and accessible language.  
  • Creative problem-solving mindset and ability to adapt technology solutions to individual needs.  
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.  

Additional Requirements  

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.  
  • Ability to travel regularly to homes and program locations in all states served by Aspire.

Working Conditions:  

  •  This is a hybrid position   
  • The position does require travel to group homes and state offices periodically.   
  • The employee is frequently required to walk; sit; use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms using a keyboard and video display terminal.   
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and climb stairs.  
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. The work environment is a standard office setting including standard office equipment (fax, copier, phone, computer, etc.)
