About the team
We’re looking for Software Engineering Interns to join Alloy’s Product Engineering organization. This internship is ideal for students or early-career engineers who want hands-on experience building real software used by some of the largest financial institutions in the world.
As an intern, you’ll be embedded on a cross-functional product squad alongside experienced engineers, product managers, designers, and an engineering manager. You’ll contribute to production code, learn modern engineering practices, and gain exposure to both frontend and backend development.
Alloy operates in a hybrid work environment, with local employees working onsite 2-4 days per week.
What you'll be doing
As a Software Engineering Intern, you will:
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code that ships to production.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers to build and improve customer-facing features.
- Contribute to frontend and backend development with mentorship and support from your team.
- Learn how to design, develop, test, and deploy software in a real-world production environment.
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and team discussions.
- Iterate on features based on feedback from your team and stakeholders.
- Gain exposure to Alloy’s tech stack, which includes TypeScript, JavaScript (React), Node.js, PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, and AWS.
We’re excited about candidates who
- Are currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or have equivalent experience).
- Have experience with at least one programming language.
- Are curious, motivated, and excited to learn by doing.
- Enjoy collaborating with others and solving problems together.
- Care about writing understandable, high-quality code.
- Are adaptable and eager to grow in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to haves
- Exposure to full-stack development.
- Familiarity with JavaScript, React, Node.js, or relational databases.
- Interest in fintech, fraud prevention, or financial technology.
- Experience using Git or working in team-based software projects.
