
VP of Retail

ROLE OVERVIEW
The VP of Retail joins ALOHA Collection’s Senior Leadership Team as the strategic and operational leader of the retail channel across Hawaii, California, Florida, and future markets. This role shapes the long-term vision for the retail fleet, builds the infrastructure required for scale, and ensures stores deliver an elevated customer experience that reflects the ALOHA brand.
In addition to overseeing all store performance, this leader owns the full expansion strategy including market evaluation, property sourcing, lease negotiations, landlord partnerships, and the complete process of opening new locations across existing markets, new markets, and potential international regions. The VP of Retail partners closely with all functions across the organization to ensure the retail channel is aligned with company priorities and positioned for sustained financial and brand success.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Shape the long-term retail strategy across existing markets, new opportunities, and potential international expansion as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team
- Lead all expansion activities including market evaluation, site selection, lease negotiations, property planning, and portfolio optimization
- Partner with Finance, the VP of Merchandise and Planning, and Supply Chain to set and deliver retail financial targets and align on revenue, margin, labor, and inventory goals
- Own retail P&L performance and collaborate cross-functionally to drive sustainable top line and profitability outcomes
- Build scalable retail operating systems, SOPs, reporting tools, and training programs that support consistency, efficiency, and growth
- Oversee retail KPIs including traffic, conversion, AOV, UPT, customer acquisition, loyalty participation, inventory productivity, and payroll percent
- Analyze store and fleet performance to identify opportunities, resolve operational challenges, and increase sales productivity
- Partner with Product, Merchandising, and Planning on assortment strategies, allocations, inventory flow, and in-store storytelling
- Collaborate with Marketing and eCommerce on omnichannel strategies, local marketing initiatives, and customer acquisition programs
- Lead and develop a high-performing retail organization through strong hiring, coaching, training, and leadership development
- Ensure efficient labor planning, operational discipline, and strong expense and payroll management across the fleet
- Maintain consistent field presence to stay connected to customer behavior, team culture, and operational execution
- Champion the ALOHA spirit and foster a warm, inclusive, high-performance culture across the retail organization
EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
- 10–15+ years of progressive retail leadership experience, including leading multi-store organizations at the Senior Director or VP level
- Proven experience in retail expansion, including market evaluation, portfolio planning, lease negotiation, and partnerships with real estate and landlord teams
- Full P&L ownership with strong financial acumen and experience partnering with Finance, Merchandising/Planning, and Supply Chain
- Demonstrated success driving profitable growth through KPI management (traffic, conversion, AOV, UPT, customer acquisition, inventory productivity, payroll %)
- Experience building and scaling retail operating systems, training programs, reporting tools, and field leadership structures
- Deep knowledge of assortment planning, allocation strategy, and inventory flow
- Experience integrating retail with omnichannel initiatives in partnership with eCommerce and Marketing
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently
