Your Role:
Alpaca is seeking a highly motivated Director of Business Development to join our team. This role is ideal for professionals with experience in institutional sales and business development within financial services, fintech, or cryptocurrency. As a key contributor to Alpaca’s growth, you will manage and expand client relationships, identify new business opportunities, and enhance Alpaca’s presence through events and strategic presence initiatives.
This position offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership, significantly impact revenue generation, and help shape the future of a dynamic, fast-growing company.
Things You Get To Do:
1. Strategic Relationship & Business Development
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with fintechs, exchanges, brokerages, banks, primes, and ecosystem partners.
- Serve as a key executive interface with prospective and existing clients, identifying opportunities to deepen partnerships and expand platform adoption.
- Navigate high-stakes engagements with regulators, government agencies, and public sector institutions to support Alpaca’s global expansion.
- Own the full client relationship lifecycle—from opportunity scoping to deal structuring and ongoing partnership growth.
- Identify and pursue new commercial opportunities in collaboration with sales, marketing, product, and executive leadership.
- Support account conversion by partnering with the sales team on strategic deals, lead nurturing, and referral follow-up.
2. Ecosystem Development & GTM Execution
- Drive Alpaca’s go-to-market (GTM) execution in new geographies and verticals through engagement with local fintech communities, regulators, founders, and institutional partners.
- Collaborate closely with the CRO to execute against revenue targets and market expansion priorities.
- Champion Alpaca’s product value proposition by deeply understanding the platform and translating customer pain points into strategic solutions.
- Analyze CRM data and business performance metrics to inform sales strategy and uncover growth opportunities.
3. Industry Representation & Brand Advocacy
- Represent Alpaca and the CRO at high-profile industry conferences, regulatory roundtables, and ecosystem events.
- Assist and serve as public-facing spokespeople for Alpaca in government meetings, webinars, client workshops, and strategic media engagements.
- Host and organize regional networking events and client briefings to showcase Alpaca’s leadership and reinforce customer trust.
- Prepare and deliver high-impact sales presentations and monthly performance reports, translating data into actionable insights.
Who You Are (Must-Haves):
- Experience: 7+ years in business development, institutional sales, or account management within financial services, fintech, or cryptocurrency.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities to interact effectively with clients, colleagues, and senior executives.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with financial markets, digital assets, and emerging technologies.
- Analytical Skills: Proficiency in analyzing data to identify trends, track performance, and recommend actionable insights.
- Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal skills and a proven track record of fostering lasting partnerships.
- Event Management: Experience organizing and participating in industry events to boost brand visibility and engage clients.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree is a plus), Series 7 preferred.
