We're searching for passionate individuals eager to contribute to Alpaca's rapid growth. If you align with our core values—Stay Curious, Have Empathy, and Be Accountable—and are ready to make a significant impact, we encourage you to apply.

Your Role:

As a Senior Product Engineer on the Acquisition team, you will build the tools and services that help developers launch applications on Alpaca. That covers everything from how accounts and identity are set up to the APIs and SDKs partners integrate with. You will work mostly in Go services, with some TypeScript and React.

You will help shape the plan as well as deliver it, and you will own the onboarding experience while dedicated teams support with domain expertise. Exciting challenges wait in central parts of the onboarding process, such as identity, accounts and payments. You will work closely with respective teams to design APIs, challenge existing assumptions, and ship together.

Things You Get To Do:

  • Design and build APIs, SDKs, and Go services that let partners build experiences on Alpaca
  • Own partner journeys from first sign-up through a working integration
  • Contribute across teams' codebases on identity, accounts, payments, and onboarding, and collaborate with those teams on API design
  • Turn ambiguous business goals into actionable plans, and help shape the roadmap for a new area
  • Use data and partner feedback to understand where developers get stuck and what to build next

Who You Are (Must-Haves):

  • 5+ years building production backend services and APIs in Go or another modern backend language
  • Experience designing REST APIs, and strong SQL and relational database skills, preferably PostgreSQL
  • Able to ship frontend work in TypeScript and React when needed
  • Experience owning a customer or developer journey end to end, such as onboarding, sign-up, activation, or an integration, and able to speak to the business outcome, not just the code
  • A track record of contributing to codebases owned by other teams and driving cross-team work to completion
  • Experience with OAuth, OIDC, or similar authorization systems

Who You Might Be (Nice-to-Haves):

  • Experience building products for external developers, such as public APIs, SDKs, or developer documentation
  • Experience with developer platforms, partner portals, or marketplaces
  • Experience with multi-tenant account or identity models
  • Experience in fintech, payments, identity verification (KYC), or other regulated industries
  • Experience on a growth team or at an early-stage company, shipping whatever it takes to move an outcome

How We Take Care of You:

  • Competitive Salary & Stock Options
  • Health Benefits
  • New Hire Home-Office Setup: One-time USD $500
  • Monthly Stipend: USD $150 per month via a Brex Card
