About the Alpha Alternatives North America Consulting Analyst Program 

The Analyst program will give you the opportunity to gain immediate hands-on consulting experience and skills, with the opportunity to be aligned to our FMO or FAO practice:

  • Front Middle Office
    • The front and middle office practice supports our clients capabilities that align to those functions through the value chain and lifecycle of a deal from origination through close. Additionally, we will cover the post-close monitoring of the portfolio through portfolio management, performance, risk, exposure and valuations as well as the enterprise data and advisory capability often leading to enterprise transformation.
  • Finance and Operations
    • This branch specializes in finance operations in the alts space, helping clients streamline their back-office business processes with the help of controls and technology to create efficiencies. The team is primarily focused on Fund Accounting, Investment Accounting, Management Company Accounting and Treasury areas

What training is provided?

New Analysts are provided with a developmental ‘Analyst Training Program’ designed to provide you with key consulting skills helpful to your role and introduce you to the team. This will consist of the following: tool-specific training (e.g. Excel charting/PowerPoint design); soft skill training (e.g. time management, leadership, presentation skills); and ‘Management Consulting 101’ (project management skills and effective stakeholder management). You will have the opportunity to meet and learn directly from a range of Subject Matter Experts who will present client projects and explain the different focus areas within Alpha Alternatives.

Following the Analyst Training Program, you will begin working as part of an Alpha team on client engagements! You will receive training on-the-role, as well as full access to LinkedIn Learning – meaning you can further develop your skillsets across a number of topics - examples being communication, presentation, technology and problem solving skills.

What is the role?

As an Alpha Alternatives Analyst, you will play a key role in advising clients across Financial Services and Private Markets as they navigate complex operational and technology challenges. From the beginning, you’ll support the design and implementation of forward-looking solutions that drive strategic value. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll contribute to the assessment of business needs, the configuration of software platforms, and the alignment of new tools with existing systems and processes.

Your ability to think critically, communicate clearly, and work collaboratively will help clients improve decision-making, increase efficiency, and gain better insights through enhanced data accuracy. You will work as part of project teams to advise on and implement solutions that address key client challenges. Across engagements, you’ll gather and analyze data, shape recommendations, and support the delivery of initiatives that create lasting impact.
Most of your work will be based in your home office city, though occasional travel within North America may be required for client workshops, project kick-offs, training sessions, or team events. If you’re based near our Midtown New York office, you are welcome to work there as well. While client engagement remains central to our work, the role is designed for a hybrid environment and significant travel is not expected.

As an Analyst (advisory focus), you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the delivery of client engagements by contributing to the project plan, ensuring accurate, complete, and timely outputs aligned with client goals
  • Assisting in the preparation of high-quality client deliverables - including facilitating meetings and workshops, conducting research and analysis (e.g., in Excel), and developing clear, compelling presentation materials (e.g., PowerPoint)
  • Participating in training and gaining hands-on experience with specialized technology platforms commonly used in Financial Services and Private Markets
  • Building trusted working relationships with clients, acting as a reliable and professional first point of contact, and contributing to a positive and collaborative engagement experience
  • Contributing to Alpha’s broader growth by supporting the development of client proposals, thought leadership content (e.g., whitepapers), and market or competitor research
  • Staying informed about key trends and challenges in the Financial Services and Private Markets industries, while developing a foundational understanding of your project’s focus area

Who are we looking for?

  • Open to candidates graduating between December 2025 - June 2026 with a Bachelors degree in one of the following fields or related disciplines:
    • Business Administration
    • Finance
    • Accounting
    • Economics
    • Math
    • Physics
    • Chemistry
    • Engineering

 

  • Can start full-time starting August 17th 2026 (can potentially consider earlier)
  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.3 or above
  • Have a genuine interest in financial services / private markets industry
  • Are curious, ambitious, creative, and entrepreneurial with a “can do” attitude
  • Have strong problem-solving skills with an analytical mindset
  • Can effectively communicate in English (both written and spoken)
  • Are willing and able to work on-site in NYC (expectation is a minimum of 3 days per week)
  • Willingness to travel for work as needed (e.g. for client engagements / workshops  – although with our hybrid working world, significant travel is not expected for this role)
  • Have the legal right to work in the U

  • The final step will be a 30 minute Final Round interview with one of our Alpha Alternatives leadership team – a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you might have.

What’s the compensation / benefits package?

As part of the Alpha Alternatives team, you will be rewarded with the following:
