Alpha FMC Summer Diversity Internship 2025
The Opportunity
Alpha’s Consulting Summer Diversity Internship offers people from diverse backgrounds the opportunity to experience first-hand a career in Consulting within our Insurance Division. We’re looking for talented undergraduates who meet our eligibility criteria (see Diversity Requirements and Candidate Profile) to support our consulting engagements over an 8 week period, from 7 July – 29 August 2025.
The intention of the Alpha UK D&I internship is to focus on rebalancing representation within social mobility and ethnic diversity with a keen awareness of the underrepresentation of key groups within the Insurance & Consulting Industry.
Diversity Requirements
To meet the diversity requirements, you must be able to answer ‘yes’ to statement 1, and ‘yes’ to either statement 2 (a or b) or statement 3 (a, b or c).
1) I attended a state comprehensive school, and did not attend a fee-paying school at any point between the ages of 4-18
AND
2a) The occupation of my main householder earner when I was aged 14 is categorised as a lower socio-economic background* e.g.:

- Technical and craft occupations
- Routine, semi-routine manual and service occupations
- Long-term unemployed

2b) I was eligible for Free School Meals (at any point) during my school years.
OR
3) I am from one of the following ethnic minority backgrounds.
a) Bangladeshi, Indian, Pakistani, Chinese or other Asian background
b) African, Caribbean or any other black background
c) White and Asia, white and black African, white and black Caribbean or any other mixed ethnic background

About Insurance Consulting
Alpha’s Insurance Consulting division was established in 2019 to further diversify our firm’s industry footprint, and in 2023 we expanded our Insurance Consulting division to the USA.
The Insurance team works with industry leading insurers and brokers to position their businesses for future success, and are supporting our clients on some of the industry’s most ground-breaking and exciting engagements. Key Responsibilities
Alpha’s Summer Interns are provided with a developmental training programme, to provide you with key consulting skills and to help you to get to know your colleagues. Training includes tool-specific and soft skill training, and covers key consulting activities. We also organise a number of social events to warmly welcome you to the Alpha Team.
Following the training programme, you’ll start supporting project delivery for our Insurance clients. You’ll be a key member of a project team, helping our clients to solve their biggest challenges and achieve their goals. You’ll also have the opportunity to support a variety of Business Management areas to help you gain a unique insight into the operations of a consulting business and help to support the day-to-day running of the firm.
Day-to-day activities may include attending client meetings, documenting requirements, preparing client proposals and meeting presentations in PowerPoint, building financial models, and engaging in creative problem solving with Alpha colleagues. If your internship experience is a success, you could be considered to join Alpha for a full time Analyst position after your studies.
Candidate Profile – who we’re looking for
We are looking for talented, diverse candidates who are eager to make an impact and who fulfil the below requirements:
- Penultimate or final year undergraduate students who are able to take part in an 8-week internship from 7 July – 29 August 2025
- Have the right to work in the UK
- Have a genuine interest in consulting in the Insurance industries
- Be highly ambitious, proactive and entrepreneurial, with a ‘can do’ attitude
- Have strong problem-solving skills, with an analytical mindset
- Willingness to be part of a team which enjoys working hard and socialising together
- An interest in assisting with one or more areas of business management

- Blended assessment & video interview
- Half-day assessment centre
- Final Round Interview
