Director - Insurance Tech Consulting

As such, we are now at a critical turning point in our growth. We are looking to grow the company across all levels. Pivotal to our success in this, we will be assembling the next generation of leaders, responsible for growing, elevating our market position further and nurturing the junior talent through the business.
Due to continued growth, we are now looking to recruit a Director into our Insurance practice, based in London, to oversee and manage Tech Transformation projects for a variety of clients.
Role Responsibilities:
- Managing highly successful, complex client engagements to achieve strong client satisfaction rating, from project design through to delivery – including management of Alpha team and potentially contractors
- Developing strategies to set our clients up for success, and driving high-quality work products within expected timeframes and to budget
- Analysing clients' business, technology and data needs to identify key issues and propose solutions and recommendations, assisting and implementing recommendations to ensure the best use of clients’ resources – both within and beyond immediate project objectives
- Monitoring progress, managing risks and ensuring key stakeholders are kept informed about progress of project and expected outcomes to ensure client efficiency
- Conducting research, surveys and interviews and discussing organisational problems with clients
- Bringing together diverse stakeholders to work effectively in partnership
- Managing and motivating colleagues, supporting their professional development and maximising their personal effectiveness
- Developing and maintaining long-term client relationships and networks, building a respectable profile within your network of new and existing clients
- Identifying and executing appropriate client/ vendor entertainment opportunities
- Staying abreast of Insurance and wider technology and data trends relevant to the client's business
- Communicating Alpha’s proposition and credentials in a compelling and convincing manner, encouraging buy-in
- Making a strong contribution towards business development
- Undertaking effective account management including financial management
Role Requirements (Skills, Experience and Qualifications):
- Deep understanding of one or more of retail, commercial and specialty insurance markets (including the London Market) across carriers, brokers and reinsurers, with a particular focus on the application of technology across these market segments
- Ideally 10+ years proven experience in the delivery of consulting, change and technology projects, gained within a leading financial institution or consulting firm
- Experience of projects engaged on Target Operating Model, business processes and IT solutions in some of the following areas: Underwriting, Claims, broking (inc. distribution and market connectivity), core administration (policy, claims and billing), finance. Outsourcing and cost optimisation
- Specific experience of one (or more) of Technology Enabled Transformation Projects (Core Administration platforms, underwriting workbench, broker platforms, BPM, CRM, Digital, Automation), IT Strategy, Solution Design, Transformation planning and roadmaps, Technology programme assurance and Data (Policy) Migration
- Demonstrable proficiency in relationship development and client account management and a proactive interest in contributing to the growth of the practice
- Senior stakeholder management and influencing skills, demonstrated with clients and colleagues
- Excellent communication, presentation and problem-solving skills, confident at structuring and articulating complex messages
- Ability to show initiative when dealing with clients, form strong relationships with new clients, and maintain existing relationships
- Superb interpersonal skills, with ability to influence and lead, demonstrated with both clients and colleagues
- The ability and desire to proffer good mentorship and coaching skills towards other team members
- An in-depth understanding of key topics and themes in the Insurance industry, with the ability to debate key industry issues with senior clients
