The Opportunity

As a Senior Consultant, you will take a leading role in driving our change programs. You may be leading a work stream within a larger program or helping to drive projects and produce deliverables for smaller projects alongside a small team of other Alpha Alternatives resources. You will be responsible for identifying and implementing solutions for some of the highest profile projects at leading private equity, credit, and real estate investors globally. Our work is varied, but on typical project you can expect to be capturing and analyzing data, working with our industry experts to propose innovative solutions, and helping drive forward some of the most exciting projects in the industry. Many of our projects give you the opportunity to engage with clients from day one, as part of a small Alpha team supporting them with some of their most complex business challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Engaging with stakeholders to drive & lead execution against effective project plans, anticipate potential issues, and provide structured solutions to ensure a successful client engagement
  • Leading a work stream or component of a project, taking responsibility for the creation of client deliverables by facilitating client interviews and workshops, performing analysis in Excel, synthesizing clear insights from complex information, and developing content that clearly articulates recommendations
  • Developing meaningful and successful relationships with clients and vendors by understanding the different needs of stakeholders and establishing a high degree of credibility internally and externally
  • Supporting Alpha Alternative’s broader business evolution, including co-authoring whitepapers and performing market research to identify opportunities for Alpha
  • Maintaining a broad understanding of the challenges facing the industry and knowledge of relevant issues and trends within one or more of Alpha Alternative’s practice areas

Qualifications and Skills

  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in financial services consulting or internal advisory / strategy roles within financial institutions
  • Demonstrated experience delivering advisory-led engagements, including operating model design, strategic transformation, or technology-enabled change
  • Proven experience advising or working within investment management, private markets, or similarly complex financial services organizations
  • Familiarity with private markets (credit, equity, or real assets) or the wider investment management industry preferred 
  • Robust Microsoft Office capability, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
  • Excellent consulting and problem-solving skills, and familiarity with recognized project/change and consulting frameworks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to translate complex analysis into clear client messaging
  • Effective task and time management skills, with the ability to manage priorities across concurrent engagements
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills, with a track record of building collaborative relationships internally and with clients
  • Appetite to support clients across our practice areas
  • Intellectual capacity and ability to think in new, innovative ways to understand complex issues and develop creative solutions
  • Flexibility to travel if required

There are a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to - skill sets, experience and training, and licensure and certifications. A reasonable estimate of the salary range is $77,000 to $130,000 subject to change based on salary benchmarking. In addition to this salary, candidates will be eligible for a variable bonus.
