The Opportunity 

The Portfolio Monitoring practice line is one of the fastest growing areas at Alpha Alternatives due to our firm's unique ability to infuse technology, automations and various controls around a process that is notoriously manual and inefficient. As a Portfolio Monitoring Technology Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in implementing and optimizing cutting-edge technology solutions for portfolio monitoring and analysis. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, configure software platforms, and ensure seamless integration with existing systems. Your expertise will drive efficiency, enhance data accuracy, and empower our clients to make informed investment decisions. Responsibilities 

You will be a part of a team participating in the entire lifecycle of designing and implementing best-practice Portfolio Monitoring Operating Models & Technology. In this capacity your responsibilities will include: 

  • Operating Model Design including current state / future state analysis, strategic design, initiative prioritization, sequencing, road mapping and a phased approach to delivery 
  • Implementation of portfolio monitoring technology solutions. 
  • Collaboration with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate requirements into technical specifications. 
  • Conducting thorough analysis of existing processes to identify opportunities for improvement and automation. 
  • Providing training and support to end-users, ensuring proficient utilization of technology platforms. 
  • Monitoring system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implementing enhancements to optimize functionality. 
  • Staying abreast of industry trends and best practices in portfolio monitoring technology. 

Qualifications and Skills 

  • 3-5 years of experience in management consulting, technology or operating in the Private Markets Investment Industry 
  • Strong project management capabilities with proven ability to manage workstreams, drive accountability, and deliver on time and within scope 
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills with the ability to translate complex data and technical concepts into actionable insights for diverse stakeholders 
  • Demonstrated success leading complex technology transformation initiatives, including requirements gathering, stakeholder alignment, and change management 
  • Experience guiding clients through end-to-end project execution, from discovery and solution design through implementation and post-go-live support 
  • Understanding of investment products, asset classes, and portfolio management principles; experience within private equity, venture capital, or alternative investments 
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, manage multiple priorities, and build trusted relationships with client leadership and cross-functional teams 
  • Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power BI).

There are a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to - skill sets, experience and training, and licensure and certifications. A reasonable estimate of the salary range is $77,000 to $160,000 subject to change based on salary benchmarking. In addition to this salary, candidates will be eligible for a variable bonus.
