The Opportunity

The Senior Consultant plays a critical role within Alpha Alternatives’ Data Strategy segment, serving as a key contributor to the Front & Middle Office team and owning substantial components of private markets data strategy engagements. This role develops deep fluency across front-, middle-, and back-office workflows and core data domains, including Client, Fund, Investment, Deal, Portfolio Company, Exposure, Performance, Cashflows, Valuations, and related IR or operational data. Senior Consultants translate business insights into structured deliverables, domain definitions, governance components, and operating model frameworks that anchor enterprise data transformation. Working closely with Managers and Senior Managers, the Senior Consultant drives high-quality, client-ready content that informs the design of scalable, governed data capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Build a strong understanding of private markets workflows across deal execution, portfolio monitoring, valuations, investor relations, operations, and finance, and apply that understanding to advise clients on how data enables better execution.
  • Own defined deliverables or major sections, such as domain definitions, business requirements, governance components, and workflow documentation, and deliver polished, client-ready outputs.
  • Lead stakeholder interviews and working sessions and translate input into clear, actionable insights that connect business needs to data implications.
  • Define domain-level requirements across Client, Fund, Investment, Deal, Portfolio Company, Exposure, Performance, Cashflows, and Valuations, including the business rules and decision-critical data elements required for consistency.
  • Document data ownership, stewardship expectations, and standards that improve consistency, usability, and accountability across teams.
  • Partner with technology and data delivery teams by translating business needs into clear, actionable requirements and ensuring alignment to scalable delivery patterns at a conceptual level.
  • Elevate team delivery by coaching Analysts and Consultants through structured review, feedback, and quality assurance on outputs.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 4–6+ years of experience in consulting, private markets, asset management, business analysis, or data strategy roles.
  • Strong understanding of private markets workflows and decision points across investing, portfolio monitoring, valuations, investor relations, operations, and finance.
  • Ability to translate business problems into structured analysis and clear recommendations, with strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Working knowledge of data strategy fundamentals, including how data quality, definitions, and ownership impact reporting, analytics, and execution.
  • Strong facilitation and interviewing skills, with the ability to synthesize stakeholder input into crisp, usable insights.
  • Ability to communicate complex topics in clear business language and produce executive-ready narratives and materials.
  • Awareness of modern cloud-native data platform tools across ingestion, processing, storage, governance, and visualization, sufficient to articulate business-led implications in partnership with technical teams.
  • Working knowledge of core private markets tools and workflows across the investment lifecycle, enabling effective partnership with business and technology teams.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Learning and development: Vast opportunities to self-development, unlimited access to LinkedIn Learning
  • Flexible working: Work-life balance with flexible schedule
  • Community events: We offer a range of social events and meetups
  • 25 days’ holiday in addition to public holidays

  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Wellness initiatives to promote healthy working, including a gym reimbursement for those enrolled in our medical plans and an allowance for remote working technology
  • Access to discounted travel, tickets, events, and more through our benefit partner

There are various factors considered in compensation decisions, including skill sets, experience, training, and licensure. Form CC-305
Page 1 of 1
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
