The Opportunity 

The Senior Manager serves as the engagement lead within Alpha Alternatives’ Data Strategy segment, accountable for delivering complex, multi-workstream private markets transformation programs. Operating within the Front & Middle Office team, the Senior Manager leads enterprise-wide initiatives spanning front-, middle-, and back-office workflows and core private markets data domains such as Client, Fund, Investment, Deal, Portfolio Company, Exposure, Performance, Cashflows, and Valuations. Senior Managers translate firm-wide business priorities into unified data strategy constructs, governance frameworks, operating models, and conceptual architecture guidance. As the primary day-to-day advisor to business and technology leadership, the Senior Manager ensures alignment across stakeholders, drives the project narrative, and delivers cohesive, executive-ready solutions that support scalable, governed, modern data capabilities

Responsibilities

  • Serve as overall engagement lead, managing multi-workstream delivery and acting as the primary point of contact for senior client stakeholders.
  • Own the end-to-end engagement narrative, ensuring current state, target state, governance, operating model, and roadmap form a cohesive strategy.
  • Lead executive-level client interactions, including Steer Cos, workshops, and cross-functional alignment sessions.
  • Direct Managers and Senior Consultants on methodology, analysis, and deliverable structure, ensuring consistency and quality across workstreams.
  • Validate findings, synthesize enterprise-wide insights, and translate complex issues into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Guide target-state operating model and roadmap development, aligning roles, governance, workflows, and business–technology architecture.
  • Manage risks, scope, and escalations; mentor team members; and partner with Directors and Partners on future-phase strategy.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 9 –12+ years of experience in consulting, data strategy, private markets, asset management, or large-scale transformation initiatives.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, multi-workstream programs end-to-end with strong client and executive stakeholder management.
  • Deep expertise in enterprise data strategy, including operating models, governance, domain modeling, stewardship, and architecture alignment.
  • Advanced understanding of private markets operations and data flows across the full investment lifecycle and front-, middle-, and back-office functions.
  • Strong working knowledge of modern cloud-native data platforms, sufficient to guide business-led architectural direction.
  • Demonstrated success coaching and developing high-performing consulting teams while ensuring delivery quality.
  • Excellent executive communication, conceptual thinking, and problem-solving skills, with a product-oriented, enterprise-value mindset.
